I haven't seen this movie since I was in my teens in the 80s, it scared me a little then because it was the first Z-horror film I saw. The movie was fun to watch, even though the characters did stupid things sometimes like in other horror movie. There were multiple times in the movie that I though of something that would have worked better or would have brought all three of the male lead character to work together with greater success and would be believable to the audience. Also like that the way the black guy is portrayed and what happen with him was a somewhat different than the way Hollywood does now in zombie movies. I rate it 4/5. Well enjoy the movie, I going to watch the re-make with I think is a bit better, later.

Love Zombies :D

This is def' the first on my top faves of zombies flicks or simply labeled horror films. I saw this movie as a child and have always loved it, made sure to keep the VHS. Aside from all of that I always enjoyed the characters in the original more than the remake. The African American man is just the absolute best, the strength, that don't give up attitude and his intolerance of anything less. The classic line about Babara, the music, everything. I've always had an issue w/ the end of the film, however it did make the movie even more eerie. The last few minutes, the music & still shots of how they go about "such" was obvious regarding the period of time when this film came out, so I just deal with it. This is one of the Romero movies that I will forever enjoy and I love to suggest it as a watch to anyone who's never seen it. I give this film a 5/5. BTW as for any cheesy performances def' throw that mess to the side. Heck these days people call -everything- cheesy that didn't come out just last year. Bravo.- Stolee

The granddad of all Zombie movies. Scared the crap outta me when I was a kid. This was filmed about 20 minutes from where I lived. People still go out there at night and chase each other around saying "there coming to get you Barbara." One of the classic zombie movies. Grab the popcorn and watch Halloween night!

first time I actually see the original, very good and very different than the remake...I still prefer the remake but this one was just as good, I can imagine how shocking it must've been back in the day

This is one of the first Horror movies ever filmed with sound added to it..I am really not into the hole Zoombie thing,but I respect this one,cause Horror had 2 start from somewhere..Like way back when the Wizzard of oz was filmed,first it was in black&white then technacolor came along,and put color two alot of the old movies..well on a scale of 1-10 this is a 8...cause it helped launch horror.

This was for me better than the original Night. Barbara is a terrific zombie killer.

Even though i hv watched a lot of zombie movies b4 tis, watching tis movie felt great. There's sm kind of special vibe 2 it. 4rm the 1st shot of the zombie 2 the shocking end,the movie was perfect n had everything tat should b in a zombie movie. There's a unsettling feel 2 it which makes us feel wat the characters r going through. Tat was great. 44 years didn't make tis movie old. It's still as good as new.

5/5 This movie set the bar for all Zombie movies that followed, George A Ramero was genius here. The movie is a great watch with visuals that to this day are creepy as all hell, the simplicity of this film is amazing with a bit of a moral to it. "in the end who are the real monsters?". Fun Fact: Tom Savini Was originally supposed to do the make-up and special effects for this film but instead was drafted for Vietnam, however was brought on for dawn of the dead and allowed to re-make this film in 1990, however failed to gain the same success as the original
