Tears of Sorrow-- even in Mozart's time ignorance, greed and jealousy were abundant amongst the people. He didn't live to see how famous and loved he became. He was a genius but was rejected and mistreated by mostly everyone. Read Mozart's letters and his biography after watching the movie. Yes, Mozart was proud and a little snobby, his father and sister even sent him money to pay for his rent-- but still, his music and talent were Magic. 10000/10 Thank You Milos Foreman.

A gorgeous and powerful film. Deserves all the Oscars it won three decades ago.

Wow. That was an extremely good film! The performances were fantastic! The music was great as well. Well deserved the Oscar for best picture. It was actually pretty entertaining as well, which is, in my opinion, sort of un-common in this type of film. A must see! Absolutely magnificent!

Captivating story of Scaliari's( a lesser known court composer for the King in 18th century Vienna) descent into madness following Mozart's commission of an opera by the King. F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce interpreted their characters so well they became them on the screen.

My all time favorite movie. I own it on dvd and have watched it so many times. I rememver wat hing this for the first time in music class in elementary school. Back then, most of the sexual references went right over my head, but this movie started my love of all things from the 18th century.

Have watched(own the movie)approx 12 times and never tire of this movie. Besides being a monumental composer and loving Wolfgang's music, the whimsical aspect to this movie delights the senses.

A tragic story of true genius, and the destructive power of envy. An exceptional film.

YEAH, Best movie ever! I am mesmerized by this movie, by deepness of the emotions, by divine versus ordinary, by the way director visually transfered conglomerate of emotions, characters, bios, events...Haven't found any other movie that can match this one. Suggestions? :)
