Perfection plain and simple. One of the alll time comedy classics from the pen of Wilder/Diamond. Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe all at their very best inhabiting these characters like no-one else possibly could. Clever dialoque, funny situations with just a hint of the subversive. Film contains what may well be one of the very best endings ever.

This is actually my new favourite movie! The humour is perfect, the acting is amazing and it just put a massive smile on my face the whole way through 5/5 !

This movie was so funny! I did not expect to like it as well as I did. Probably one of the most entertaining films I have ever seen! Great acting and awesome plot! This is a must see. 5/5.

Nominated for 6 Academy Awards, In 2000, "Some Like It Hot" was rated the funniest American comedy of all time (American Film Institute). Ridiculously silly and hilariously funny, a Cross-Dressing tour de force! Jerry Lewis was offered the role of Jerry/Daphne but declined because he didn’t want to dress in drag (IMDb)! Behind-the-scenes, Curtis said that kissing Monroe was like kissing Hitler, "but when you watch that scene, all you can think is that Hitler must have been a terrific kisser!" Apparently Marilyn Monroe took 47 takes in one scene to get "It's me, Sugar" correct; after 30 takes Wilder had the phrase written on a blackboard for her. After 40 takes of her saying, "Where's the bourbon?" when Monroe was rummaging through some drawers, Wilder pasted the correct line in one of the drawers. Monroe was still confused, so Wilder pasted the line in every drawer! It took 59 takes for Monroe to get it right (BBC). Despite it all, she won a Golden Globe Award as Best Actress. Meanwhile, back in Kansas in 1959, the film was banned from showing, because wearing the clothes of the opposite sex was "too disturbing for Kansans" !!!
