Watch Psycho: Phoenix officeworker Marion Crane is fed up with the way life has treated her. She has to meet her lover Sam in lunch breaks and they cannot get married because Sam has to give most of his money away in alimony. One Friday Marion is trusted to bank $40,000 by her employer. Seeing the opportunity to take the money and start a new life, Marion leaves town and heads towards Sam's California store. Tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the main highway and pulls into The Bates Motel. The motel is managed by a quiet young man called Norman who seems to be dominated by his mother.

Magnificent. Required viewing for all film students. Beginning with the very first scene, Hitchcock tightens the spring moment by terrible moment until the suspense is finally relieved and the answers are provided by the psychiatrist. Then, he gives the audience one more chance to briefly relax before he steals their breath once more with the slow zoom onto Perkins' face. A landmark picture.

First time ever seeing this horror classic! More like Sicko than psycho! Proves you can do things with violins and cellos that just won't work with other instruments--make the audience run for its life! I may not shower for a while . . . !

I love this classic, it's not my favorite Hitchcock, but nonetheless it is a great one. Hitchcock is the master of suspense, not to mention Anthony Perkins does some pretty great acting in this one.

LOLOLOLOL Simply because, I remember my Granny use to tell me how much this movie terrified her. Hitchcock was a true mastermind though but, in no way shape or form can I say best horror movie ever. I kinda liked the newer version much better but hey that's just me. 4/5 stars cause, it is a classic.

One of the things that people never seem to get is that at the very end, it is "mother" who makes it clear that all along she was in control. The psychologist claims that Norman uses Mother as his scapegoat and a displacement of the murders on his dead mother. However, at the very end it is clear that mother is still very much alive, been using Norman, and as the last scene fades a decomposed skull is doing the smiling. Hitchcock was such a genius and he never talked about his films.

Love this movie. As another poster said, many of the scenes are artisticlly done. The story is simple, to the point and compelling. No gore needed. Didn't like the remake. Not creepy at all. This is the version to watch.

I've been watching this for YEARS. Though I've not seen it for probably 5 years, it still had the same effect on me. One of the greats, for sure. I love the old classics. And yes, young people, a classic is not Scream. LOL
