HmI!Unless it's a remake of a very oldie which I haven't seen, or I'm being very dumb, I can't understand why this scenario hasn't been done before, 'cos it's a surefire hit. It obviously has mainstream appeal, and a US remake beckons (10 yrs ago I'd have had Kevin Kline for the guy: now? not sure..). Which begs the question: why wasn't this a Hollywood film to begin with? Not sure about Vanessa Paradis. For me the essential chemistry between the two was lacking, and the weakness was on her side. Couldn't really believe that a cynical guy who made his living making rich girls fall in love with him, who was in hock to some very nasty moneylenders, would chuck it all in for HER - a tad frigid imho. His backup team , the sister and brother-in-law, work great. Again, remake!! [the subs suck!!!]

Watched this movie in summer - i found it pretty interesting, cute and funny. A good one for everybody about different people and love. 5/5
