Haven't finished the movie yet (browser crashed after 30 mins waiting for buffer; kill the time with this post), but would like to repudiate arsons comment. this movie is not an anime, nor is it asian. Not even remotely like SP either. Godkiller is composed of stills in the western comic book style manipulated using CG, to the best of my knowledge this is unique. Equally unusual, the narritive stream of conciousness relationship with the protagonist Mulciber places this well beyond the bounds of popular cinema. This is no bad thing, though my enjoyment has been hampered by some corny tacked-on stuff for 14yo Lordi fans which Davey Havok's character spouts. Shame, works for AFI but not here; I'd argue when you start this far out, there's no point dragging yourself back just to make violent coitus with the boundaries of decency and sensibility. I'm continuing to watch this because the two word harbinger of silence is laden with possibilities. indeed the whole set up is exceptional; a nuclear Last Day has slain every last vestige of faith (hence god is dead) there are hints about Scientology/V-style Lizardmen - I like Deus Ex, I like shit like this; twisting our fears into reality, dropping a looking glass into the sewers beneath every modern city. Then there's the whore casually sewing her belly back up. I mean wow. Ask your local feminist what she thinks of that motif. Will post a review once I've finished this, but atm I'd say take 5 with it, just in case, before you decide to pass this by.
