Worth solely for Scorsese's segment, "Life Lessons," a deft examination of the artistic lifestyle, warts and all. The segments from Coppola and Woody Allen drown facedown in shallow waters. It may be best to sign off before this point, as not to muddy the effects of the first part.

I disagree with the statement below. I think it's a perfect little collection of vignettes. Coppola's is probably the weakest segment of the film - but it is very cute (fascinating to see the young Sofia in her acting debut, before she showed that she couldn't act in "The Godfather pt. III"). Allen's vignette is exactly what you would expect from a Woody Allen film, except shorter - in saying that, it is very well written and a fun bit of neurosis. Scorsese's "Life Lessons" is the indubitable standout and interestingly different from the rest of his canon.
