Dummy: Steven, nearly 30 and living with his parents, sees an old Edgar Bergen movie on TV and decides to fulfill his longtime dream of becoming a ventriloquist. His beautiful unemployment counselor Lorena finds him work, but puts out a restraining order on him when he paints a thank-you note on her door. Later, this young mother agrees to date him anyway, but finds his bickering family, and his inexperience with women, daunting to a relationship. Steven's sister Heidi is a wedding planner with a drunken ex-fiancé who keeps showing up at the door. His friend Fangora is a pseudo-punk rocker whose sex does not prevent her from giving him terrible advice about women. The wedding of a Jewish girl, who wants Klezmer music and gets something unexpected, will become a turning point in everyone's lives. |

Great oddball comedy revolving around a dysfunctional family. This movie is character driven, with strong performances by everyone. Mila Jovovich, especialy sinks her teeth into this atypical part for her. Adrian Brody plays the lead with restraint. Every scene kept my interest. Wonderful cast. Two hours flew by. 8/10.

A charmer... nice sweet offbeat romantic comedy. quirky characters all played exceptionally well.. Adrian Brody has a great Buster Keaton face, Mila Jovovich was a revelation,and Ileana Douglas once again is solid. Good fun..

Lmao funny. I can't remember laughing so hard at a film, great alter ego Steven had in the dummy. Milla Jovovich was off the chart hilarious. 8/10

Such a great movie. Very entertaining. The acting is amazing and I love the characters. It was also very funny, had a wonderful storyline. Definetly worth seeing.

just as funny, and off beat as i remember.. i love seeing milla jovovich in film like this actually showing of her ability to act... great film, awesome cast of actors, and a good story.... even tho some of the parts in the film are a bit dry it doesn't really take from it...4/5

the movie is slow but don't let that stop u from watching since their are some really funny scenes, so if u don't mind slow comedy, u will enjoy this movie.

Remarkably funny movie, and super entertaining. I love movies that are just about life, I find them interesting. The acting was great, of course, and the story was cute. I highly recommend this to drama and comedy fans. 4/5.
