Wow.............. what can i say , this was such a great movie make sure you watch it dont miss out, great story, was very painfull to watch lol cant imagine this happening to me just scary, great acting, this film kept me glued to my screen the whole time was unable leave the room lol very good its all i can say

A great horror film. Everyone that love horror films have to see it. It has a nice ending for a horror film and a lot of blood. Some parts of the film maybe will make you jump. The storyline is good and it will keep you to the movie. GREAT.

Just finished this one up not too long ago. Great movie, has the feel of saw and a mix with people under the stairs. Great gore and blood with a good storyline. Can't go wrong with that combo. Is in definite need of a sequel but from what I hear they are making one. Can't wait for it. If you like bloody thrillers you will love it.

Witness the brilliance! One of the best actual suspense thrillers ever made, and undeniably defeats any other movie maniac in the business. “Arkin” played by Josh Stewart, is a safe cracking specialist that sidelines as a home contractor wherein he scouts his future heists. As he marks his next target, a second criminal of another nature called “The Collector” and with a different field of expertise has made other plans for the targeted home and its occupants. As Arkin’s initial plans are disrupted by the brutal home invader, the two face off in one of the best on screen rivalries between victim and killer since the days of Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween and Sigourney Weaver in Alien. Our mad man, an expert huntsman of sorts, utilizing various forms of incapacitating his victims and employing torturous techniques against them. Our Anti hero, a lock picking, safe cracking jewel thief armed with wits and smarts and a sense of resourcefulness that would prove to be vital tools in evading the ingenious psychopath and his instruments of death.

This film is just plain awesome with the characters, the script, specially the music. All of it was near perfect and it gave viewers an entirely different feel and respect for this kind genre. First of all our hero wasn’t your typical stupid victim that just walks into every trap throughout the movie. While our killer is no super psycho that requires an entire SWAT team to take him down. Both of them had realistic skills that countered the other, making them characters that you actually cheered for, as the two played an exciting chase in true survival horror. I for one had plenty of Faith in Marcus Dunstan and his writing this screenplay ever since he took over most of the “SAW” franchise and then “Piranha 3-D” and “Feast”, except maybe “Feast 2 & 3” which I believe his artistic freedom may have been limited due to the terrible budget in those two films. With all due respect to Mr. Dunstan, don’t ever make another “Feast” movie again.

“The Collector” however sets the bar really high for an intelligent thriller, and we can only hope that the second installment of this film “The Collection” can remain faithful to the formula and still retain some of the anonymity and mystery of the killer. I’m not sure if I want all the questions answered right away in the sequel because there’s just so much more killing to do when you’re that GOOD at it. Josh Stewart’s character has longevity in this series and fans won’t want him dead just yet. He will be coming back for the sequel in a much more powerful plot that involves hunting down the talented serial killer. I cannot stress enough that everyone should see this film, and you don’t have to be a gore fan to appreciate it. There’s plenty of human faculty that makes this movie one of the best films ever made and that goes beyond the category of horror. You WILL be missing out if you don’t see it.

If you love gore and torture, then this is the movie to watch. There is a lot to compare this film with such movies as Friday the 13th, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and SAW, but, twice the horror. This has a little of each and is what a lot of fans have been waiting for. All I can tell you is that you'll CRINGE through the whole movie.

COOL MOVIE THE KILLER IN THIS MOVIE GOTTA BE ONE OF THE HARDEST WORKING KILLER IN A MOVIE RIGHT BEHIND JIGSAW. THE MOVIE SAW PROLLY INFLUENCED THIS MOVIE BUT IT STILL HAD A GOOD CONCEPT AND THEN THE BLOOD AND GORE MADE IT GREAT GOOD HORROR/THRILLER MOVIE GOOD WATCH

An ex-con, (Josh Stewart), must fight for his life after he gets more than anticipated during a seemingly routine burglary. Whilst working with a crew on home renovations for the Chase family, the skilled thief finds himself straight back into the crime business when his wife is in deep trouble with loan sharks. In order to protect his daughter he plans a break in, into the Chase family home, whilst they are away on holiday. However Arkin soon discovers that someone else has already broken in, and has hidden numerous death traps all around. The hunter is a collector of the macabre, a collector of people. Arkin is forced to try to figure out a way to save those he intended to rob and save himself.


This is one of the most bone-chilling, tense, suspense building films I have seen all year! A unique and creative spin on the normal torture film, in the sense that the plot holds its own in a very competitive sub-genre of horror. Although the story was originally intended as a sequel to saw, it is nothing like the franchise. Despite the complexity and intensity of the plot, the film is simple and subtle in parts which make it all the more frightening, the scene which stood out for me was when the Collector first enters the house, and we see the cat and mouse chase between him and Arkin begin. The cinematography by Brandon Cox is thrilling and terrifying and the music throughout is haunting. Good acting and not at all the cliché horror film, the upcoming sequel, named “The Collection”, follows the escape of Arkin from the slimy grip of THE COLLLECTOR, but his relationship with the sicko is not over! 5/5.

So-So entrant in the SAW-inspired deadly trap/torture genre. This time around, a down on his luck carpenter breaks into the home of a wealthy family he's working for in pursuit of a diamond hidden somewhere inside. What he doesn't realize is someone else has beat him to it and rigged the house with more traps than Las Vegas, making escape impossible. Plot borrows liberally from Dean Koontz' Intensity but comes off less powerful as after the initial buildup things unravel and our hero who began so level-headed turns into the typical horror film idiot. The producers also expect the audience to stretch credulity til it breaks. The traps are so elaborate and planned out, yet were put in place sometime between the time the work crew left and the burglary later that night. The film looks good overall but unlike the SAW films which The Collector so desperately wants to be, too many loose ends and a murky explanation for what motivates the killer are its undoing
