Directed by Joe Dante(The Howling,Gremlins)this movie was produced by the great Roger Corman.The John Sayles screenplay is a fine mix of Horror,Adventure and Humour.This is ten times better than the lousy Piranha CGI remake.A starstudded(for its time)cast features Bradford Dillman(Moon of the wolf),Heather Menzies(Sssssss),Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers)Scream Queen Barbara Steele,Dick Miller,Keenan Wynn,Paul Bartel,and more.With great special effects,Gore,and some stop-motion animation.4/5.This was when they knew how to make films with Imagination.

A 70's classic...the piranha movie that started it all....a good afternoon watch...it was slow in spots but entertaining enough...you have to remember that in the 70's they had a different style to movies...pretty tame,but this one was wild for back then....lol...

4/5 still a kick ass fast paced flick. this was a wonderful time for movie making the 80's were. the remake was not much better than this. wait an 1/2 hour before going into the water after eating.

7/10 is wat ill rate it. just only a little better than i expected though. blood and gore is good, but my bad opinion is that it.. was a stupid movie. Classic but a kinda stupid film.

what can i say im a fan of Piranha movies,to me Piranha movies or batter then jaws its more blood then jaws a its more killer fish so i say 10/10

I don't think that the 2010 piranha movies could compare to the classic but yet is going to be a good watch. This is the true classic which everyone loves..

Yay, a revisit to the film (accompanied by the Jaws series) that gave me a phobia of swimming in any water anywhere. 8/10, a classic film…. DAM I hate that sound they make when they r attacking, sends shivers right up my spine, it does.

A must see.. a true classic ive always loved this movie if you havnt seen it yet. take the time sit down and watch it.

It was good for it's day i found the hero of the movie a bit funny at times, not like roll on the floor funny but a good chuckle funny and it is a classic it's worth watching I gave thid on a 3/5 or a 4/5.
