i love this movie!, it was very well made! including acting and all, if you haven't seen it beware of some disturbing parts but Kathy kills it in this movie :D

Fine movie. It was really sad though, and the storyline was good. The acting was good. But I thought there were some dumb parts. Still worth watching.

Bates & Strathairn brilliant! Parfitt strong & credible. Plummer & Leigh average. Spoilt by weak ending. Worth a watchbut not twice. 4/5.

I watch this movie several times a year. The cast is dead-on in their character interpretations. The tension is thick enough to cut with a knife in some sections thanks to Jason-Leigh's stellar performance. Parfitt is incredible. Plummer and Bates, two of my favorite actors, never disappoint. The husband (same husband in River Wild)demonstrated a wide range in his interpretation of his character. Must see film for strong performances and theme of seeking justice as opposed to strict operation of law.
