Amazing movie. It was so dramatic and touching. The end was so sad, I almost cried. It was so touching. Kate Winslet was amazing in it, she is a wonderful actress, she was so sad in it. This movie was pretty depressing, so if you don't like depressing movies you probably shouldn't watch it. The plot was amazing. The storyline was so sad. Really beautiful movie too. This is a MUST SEE!!

A fine film that was well acted, written and had a very good music score. It moved along in a rather slow way,but never to a point where you became distracted or disinterested.A superior film than most of the rubbish that gets made today.

What the f..... How rude to call someone ignorant for not liking a movie!!! By the way it is your lack of awareness of others views, and very unsophisticated of you to even make that statement, am I right? and that make YOU what? Starts with an I... P.s. This movie contains a few horrible accents!!! That's why there is not an American playing James Bond lol.

Remember that episode of Extras where Winslett guests. She says, 'The thing is, I really want to win an Oscar and I've noticed that films with Nazis in win lots of them'? she was in one, and she did. Funny, eh? Liked it, but not A LOT a lot. she's done more interesting smaller films. I agree with above poster, I was moved by the ending.

okay even better than the book.the story is actually very complex.i am european(french)and even my grandparents had terrible stories about the nazis(ss barging into their homes, beating them, stealing their food and valuables).these things stay in social mentalities.as for the german, they took years to accept what they had done and are still trying to deal with the idea.social denial is part of their world when it comes to what happened.but this you can only know if you are european because it's a hidden part of our culture.the germans have officially said they "were sorry" to the french population but if you speak to most french people, they still have a grudge.this movie made me cry.there is also a story of love and emotional abuse which symbolizes the shoah.the guilt he has to live with for what SHE has done which symbolizes the guilt and denial the german population has had to deal with.the fact that he pays no attention whether or not she knows how to read demonstrates the passivity the germans had when coming to acknowledge what was really going on in the camps.anyways,10/10

Exceptional film. It's a powerful exploration of humanity. There are several surprises throughout the story, which really keep you glued to the screen. The acting is stellar. Kate won the Oscar for her role (on her 6th nomination) and it's easy to see why. Moving and intense; it's a film like no other.

This movie delivers in so many ways it surly touches and sometimes devours your senses. The ending will suck the air from your lungs as it pulls you into a web of heavy sorrow. It will definitely leave an imprint on your soul, this I promise. Will likely make the top 10 list of all time movies for many.

I thought this film was boring, it's dragging on a bit. Why, oh why, does everyone fake a German accent ? It is ridiculous !
