This movie is just executed so well. its about a family who decide to adopt another child. little do they know that the child they have chosen to adopt has a very dark past.and wrecks havoc upon the family. This movie has a very good storyline and a very interesting twist probably one of the best that i have seen. I highly recommend you watch this.

Wow in my opinion this movie was great, i wouldnt it call it a horror movie because it is not as scary as some other movies i have seen but it is creeps you out at some moments. I think its was a wonderfull story, good acting with little bit slow start but then it picks up very fast and keeps you glued to the screen, great ending too.

I have not seen a decent horror film in a long time, but this one is definitely worth the money. Be sure to use the restrooms before the start of the movie, as it is very riveting and suspenseful. Except for one sex scene between the husband and wife, this film can be viewed by mature children accompanied by an adult. It is very well written, and well-balanced. Personally I found this film very entertaining, suspenseful, and the plot cleverly written. Without getting into too much detail and ruining it for everyone else, this movie is in a category in which the story could become true in the future. Isabel Furhman did a great job starring as an orphan adopted by a couple who was looking to fill a void in the family due to an earlier tragedy. Her ability to manipulate her siblings as well as her adoptive father, thoroughly frustrates the mother. As the movie progresses, her manipulative abilities become more apparent and deadly. This is a must-see movie and I said money well spent.

There is not much you can say about this movie without giving it away. It is really good. It has lots of twist and keeps you guessing till the end. It also has a weird creepy vibe to it. I would highly recommend it if you like scary movies that give you the chills.

I don't like thrillers. And Orphan was to weird, scary, and gory for me.
A happy family, well not really happy, recently lost a baby, miscarriage. They decided to adopt another child in replace of that baby. The 9 year old girl orphan they adopted isn't as innocent as she seems. She is a silent killer, and she continues to bring stress to the family. Finally, when she targets the family....
Too gory for me. I don't recommend for those below 18. I watched this movie once only so I don't really understand much of this movie.

Awesome Movie .. Really creepy movie, very suspenseful with a big twist at the end. That little girl creeped me out. I really like this one it kept me glued to the screen. If your looking for a good creepy movie then this is the one for you. I give it a 4.5/5

This one really gets you in the end. It's suspenseful, creepy and disturbing in a way that most horror flicks fail to achieve. It crosses lines that will make you cringe and the twist is worth waiting for, entirely. Extremely good acting for the part of Esther. Wouldn't watch it again now that I know the twist, but don't skip this one!

A girl is raised in a orphanage. A family decides to adopt the orphan, and want to know more about her. She seems like she's hiding something, but they don't know. They try to find documents about her like childhood, but there isn't anything. Really she's a crazed killer, and wants to kill anyone who wants to find her real identity.

It's such a pity. Esther really could be a model child, polite, adorable, can play piano and can paint fairly well. How could she possibly do anything wrong? Right?

She is however quite a eerie child, with odd habbits. She seems almost too perfect. The mom has a negative attitude towards her (and, as alwas, she has reason to) and the children don't seem to mind her all that much. The only person in the household who is completely convinced she can do no wrong...is the father. In his eyes, she is obviously completely innocent.

Orphan is one of those thriller movies, where the heroine KNOWS that something is wrong with the child, but everyone else is convinced she is insane for thinking such thoughts.
But is she wrong? Odd things happen around Esther, kids falling down sides, harm coming to nuns. She is still so perfect at times you just feel like screaming at her.
The movie starts out with those usual thriller false alarms, untill you see things starting to get really creepy.
A horror movie about a "demonic" kid? I don't think there are many as perfectly thrilling as this. Even I am still slightly terrified...and am going to be frightened by adorable russian children for awhile.

From I saw this movie advertised I knew this was going to be a film that I had to watch and was elated I did. I love this movie! It was perfectly executed with the story line, actors and the only disappointment to me was the ending.

This movie completely keeps you on edge, keeps you excited and keeps you wanting more!

The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate and John, taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther. Almost as soon as they welcome Esther into their home, however, an alarming series of events begins to unfold, leading Kate to believe that there's something wrong with Esther--this seemingly angelic little girl is not what she appears to be. Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late...for everyone.

Ok, this is a must see. It's really creepy. Predictable at times but still worth watching. Brilliant actors, all performed exceptionably well. The storyline was fresh and original. I recomend it to anyone who wants to see a good thriller/drama. The ending btw was quit odd. I gave this a 10/10 for sure.

After their third child was stillborn, Kate and John adopt a 9 year old russian oprhan named Esther. Pretty soon the realise Esther isn't what the expeceted and she is more trouble than they thought.

Orphan is an excellent movie and Vera Farmiga shines as Kate, the mother, dealing with the loss of a stillbirth. There is lots of twists and turns and anyone interested in thriller/horror movies should check this one out!

This movie will have u clitchin to the edge of your chair, a little girl Ester gets adopted in a new family with a sis and a brother named Daniel......you would think this girl learned voo-doo..wait till you stomble across what's been hidden for 33 years! enjoy

A family of four decides to add a family member throu addoption after they loose a pregnancy. It is immediately apparent that something is not quite rite with their new addition. Good gore and plot twist, love the characters, seems to be well written and played. I would recommend seeing this at least twice just to be sure you didn't miss anything the first time around. 5/5

An average american family coping with the loss of a stillborn child, adopts an adorable little 9 year old girl.The mom soon realises that the girl is not so innocent,but has a hard time getting anyone to listen.One of the greatest movies I've seen in a long time!!!

ok movie, predictable and not really scary. the little girl plays a good crazy person and the deaf girl is really the only person you're not wishing would just be killed already. if you like crappy movies like "the strangers", then this one will be right up your alley! 2/5 what do you expect from the director of "house of wax"

There is something captivating about this film that will stay with you. Yes, its creepy, (and if you guess Esthers secret, I'll eat my hat!)and yes, its a good gorefest and satisfying plot. But there is an element of 'car-crash curosity' that stays long after the film, and not many of todays flicks have that.
