I have seen this flic a few times.Its quite simply a very good flic.The formula is simple and straightforward, a murder mystery,well written and well acted. Connery pulls this off with ease.I like him for one particular reason and its one the the elitist clique of critics constantly disagree on.Is voice a complimentary technique or a seperate discipline to acting. I tend to go with the latter. EG..wells /war of the world ( later burton ,on the the album (war..world)He has an amazing presence on screen and his technique is almost perfect for its seemimgly effortless execution.The setting and the script are top class.photography excellent and the cast ,an above average group of fine actors and actresses both young and old.The subplots meld the whole flic into an excellent watch. If you are an aspiring writer ( like me) ,this is a masterclass in its own right,while some would pass over it and fail to see its quality. Watch it and see for yourself.
