Good movie and good acting,but the one thing I didn't like was how they portrayed Karla. She was in no way as innocent as this, was full party to everything that went on and in some ways I think that's nearly worse! How could you even begin to think about doing that to your own sister not to talk about actually going through with it. She has since had a baby boy of her own and has moved to the West Indies to live a "normal" life.

Absolutely disgusting! I hate how this movie portrayed Karla as a "victim" of sorts while acting as accomplice to her husband's depravity. Read the books. There are several and none paint her in an innocent light especially where her sister is concerned. Twelve years! She was living it up in prison. Romances with a prison guard, inmate, got a degree, got her hair done regularly, had t.v. and a microwave in her cell, and all the while supposedly thinking about what she did. When she was released, she was watched carefully with restrictions placed on where she could go. She was also given another name to live out her days in anonymity. Too many people recognized her and she was forced to leave Canada. She lives somewhere in the Caribbean with her child and boyfriend. Seems like she got rewarded for what she did. That's more than I can say about those little girls she helped murder! If there's any justice in this world, those two will be the first to go when the world goes to hell in a hand basket.

This movie is messed up, it's so sad to know that this movie was true. They actually made it seem like Karla wasn't "too into it" but apparently, she actually was. So, they should have made the movie more like that. It was still excellent though! 4.5/5 ... PS. wow the border sucked like about 15 years ago. That was it? haha

Alrigth movie. Sick movie, I can't believe a couple would do that together. Very disturbing. The acting was all right. Worth a watch.

As much as I love Laura Prepon and Misha Collins, as a Southern Ontarian I haven't been able to bring myself to watch this movie. I was in junior high when these events happened. I can vividly recall attending special assemblies and watching nightly news warnings to be "on the lookout". I wasn't allowed to walk home after school by myself. Our town even banned the movie theater from showing it, out of respect for the families. Maybe one day I'll watch it, but that day is likely a looooong way off. ........ she should've never saw the light of day again! >:(

A messed up movie from what I remember of it. Not all that fabulous or anything, only watched it when I did because it was based off of truth. If not for that, you wouldn't really get into it at all. Very sick, twisted, sad, angering. All in all 6/10.

This movie struck a major nerve with our friends North of the border. AND for very good reason too! I disagree that the movie glamorized the true incidents however. The Canadian court system did that!!! Basically, the plot concerns the main characters Karla Homolka trying to keep her hubby sexually interested by giving in to his depraved desires all the while pretending that he isn't a serial rapist. Unfortunately, based on a true story, and YES, Paul Bernardo is still in jail, while Karla got remarried and lives happily ever after! Worth watching for the very effective performances by Collins and Prepon, but also to see that the Canuck's legal system is as screwed up as ours!

All I could say is wow! The fact that this is based on a true story is horrifying. How can you love such a monster and be turned into one yourself without even feeling it. It was bound to happen the abuse coming onto Karla, when you do bad things and are scared when your footprints are left behind and have twisted someones mind into thinking you love them and this is normal living, it's no surprise that Paul has continually abused and altered that abuse furthermore when he started getting scared. Karla, I don't know what you were thinking from the start but I am shocked by the actions and train of thinking in this movie became. I haven't looked into the real case but this movie was just one word and two words. wow!.... horrifying!! The acting was done well by both actors. We must be careful and teach/guide our young ones to be careful who you talk to.

I thought this disturbing movie was awesome considering it is scripted. One must really read the books/documents on the real Karla. The movie softens her portrayal, or remorse. However, the actors did absolute amazing.

I thought this a great if not disturbing film. Acting was brilliant. A sad film that you have to really understand to know what that poor woman was going through.

Great movie. Homolka wasnt as innocent and a victim as portrayed. If you could do that to your own sister what would it be to do the same to a stranger? Great writing and acting altho a lil slow for my tastes. 7/10

Wow this really freaks me out for few reasons. I was young back then. While in High School I didnt pay much attention to the news but heard about it every day because these events happen close to home. Im in Sudbury.. Toronto is about 4 hrs away.. My best friend (Natalie) her cousin Tricia lived houses away from these people and I can't recall how many times each summer Natalie would go see Tricia for summer vacation and they were beautiful young women discovering life.. looking for hot looking guys and parties and they'd call me and tell me all about it.. they had fun!! teenage fun!! I just Thk God that they didn't hurt my friends!! So today I finally watched this film and I still have chills running over my body with over rated thoughts in my brain. have to keep telling myself my friends are safe but all of those other unlucky girls weren't and Im hurt by this. their families.. what they must be going through till this day.. my Prayers go out to them. Karla should still be locked up! I can't believe she's out. She too should have had 'life' in prison. I can go on and on but I won't. They don't deserve more of my precious time. I love true stories and will always watch these films. I gotta learn not to get so involved! laffs.. 5/5

I think there is one or two about Paul Bernardo that were not to be released for some time after the cases were finshed. Karla is aparantly married and has kids. The picture of her in the paper the day she was released creeps me out to this day.

it makes me feel sad. this world we live in is just a mess knowing that people like this exist and they enjoy raping and abusing to such a degree it really bothers me.paul needs to get his d*#! chopped off and i hope he gets it in prison so he can see how it feels. and karla is a airheaded blonde bimbo that would do anything to please her sick man. the fact that they did that to young girls and she did that to her own sister just makes my heart feel heavy and makes me wonder about people the human race is a disgrace.

I found this film fascinating because the male character was a sociopath in every shape and form. Karla enabled him and he used her in every way he could. I found it terrifying because there are really people like this out there...

I am not familiar with this case but I do see two twisted, sadistic people who deserve the worst fate can give them. People are arguing which one did what but since I know so little about it all I can do is comment on the film. The film was well made, in my opinion and seems to spiral into this nightmarish desire by Karla's husband to hurt, rape and maim young women. In my opinion the movie shows she just stood by, I think that's about correct. You would have to watch it and see what you think, did abuse frighten her into doing the things she did? Or was she as twisted as her hubby. Like I said you can make the call yourself by watching this. Bad Karma to both, anyway.

Couples who present themselves to the world as being "perfect" are usually everything but. It took a lot for me to watch this film without feeling disgusted and nauseated. Karla should've been sentenced to life in prison a long with her evil husband. Google says she now lives in the Caribbean with her kids.

This movie was slow but okay,makes it better that is was based on a true story,and that 70s girl looks pretty hot in a bra and panties.lol. 7/10

omg, it really makes you wonder are these people born twisted like that, if so lets hope they can do dna checks n get them aborted before they are anywhere near causing such pain 10/10

This is not one of the better true crime movies I have seen, and I have seen a lot of them. It is very slow moving, did not even make it to the end. Will maybe try again another time. But thanks for the recommendation.
