Ok, so this movie isn't going to make anyones list of the top 10 movies of all time. However, this is certainly an outstanding satire of the 80s "Gangsta Rap" phenomenon. There are plenty of hilarious scenes and a plot line that was interesting to follow although certainly not unpredictable. Anyone who can remember listening to NWA, the Ghetto Boys, Public Enemy or otherwise having any interest in the early rap genre will love this movie. The concert scenes will have you falling out of your seat and the dichotomy between the main character's on-stage persona and his middle-class suburban upbringing is very funny (and probably an accurate reflection for some of the so-called Gangsta rappers).((WELL PUT,This is Spinal Tap into a Rap movie)) It's Zany, crude, chessy VERY WILD but this movie is flat out HILARIOUS !

I loved this movie as a kid.Good acting,budget and all that good stuff.Super funny.If you like old school rap like NWA and such you are gonna love this movie.Sweat off my balls will never see airplay LMAO=-)

What a brilliant example of good movie making. Funny, vibrant and seriously realistic at times this film is a true send up of rap music. Everyone in front of the camera and behind the scenes did a remarkable job, and in shows in this great piece of work.
