There another version of this movie on this site its called( THE COUNTESS )its more realistic on the concept even though this one is more fantasy light based compared to the other version which is thriller based and very disturbing but compelling TO WATCH if you enjoyed this VERSION THE OTHER ONE will shocked the person OUT OF ITS MIND you will see what im talking about... i rate this movie compare to the other movie a 6/10 due that the other actress is more convincing and evil IN portraying the Bathory character..

a tad odd in parts but overall very well sometimes these type of movies can make u fall asleep but this one kept me on the edge loved it! =D

Love this movie keeps you right on the edge trying to decide a lot of things. I would say everyone should watch this. The acting is something to be hold. The clothes, I can't give this high enough makes. Best thing I have seen in years. Is a classic already in my book.

honestly i couldnt get thru 20 minutes of this movie. after watching The Countess this movie doesnt compare to the writing of Julie Delpy. beautifully made and more believable story line.

Beautifully filmed w/great costume & settings. Perhaps a bit long but well worth a look-see.

I thought it was long, but overall a great movie. Love the costumes etc and the storyline was great. 4/5. worth watching.

I wont say that this was a joy to watch but I will say that it was entrancing and worth watching. I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. It still amazes me that people really burned, killed, torchered and raped in the name of God, but aside from that, if this was in fact a true story, what a life that woman had to endure. Wow is all I can say.. This is a very dramatic and intense movie.

What a really well constructed film. It definately shows what a battle this must have been to be female in a man's world back then,struggling to outwit your competition who wants everything by hook or by crook.I kept thinking of Queen Elizabeth and her struggle to hold onto power which partly covered this same time.There is also cheesy humor spread through out to lighten things up abit.When facts are few,imagination runs wild. Even today people tend to think if its printed it must be true.A good lesson for all of us to remember.This film is definately full of intrigue, romance and twists.Just be prepared for lots of flesh exposure as its not a PG13 film.7/10
