One of the best films I have ever seen. Javier Bardem is absolutely insane as Anton Chigur, one of the most terrifying characters in cinema history. Had some unbelievably dark and intense scenes. Tommy Lee Jones was great as always, and Josh Brolin was solid, but Bardem carries the film throughout. Could re-watch a million times and still be on the edge of my seat. As the thumbnail on this site says, truly an instant classic. 10/10

I love the frst 2/3 rds of the movie The main dude and the hitman duking it out was phenominal but once the main char dies, it dose not make sence, can somone explane the purpose of the old guy with cats scene that lasts 20 minutes then the 20 minute conversation in the diner? Plus why was Tommy Lee Jones in here? He never affects the plot. Nor dose Woody Harelson but still kool to put them in it sicne I love those actors. Sicne I do not fully understand this movie I can't properly rate it. I think everyone should see this movie atleast once.

If you haven't watched it watch it, this movie has zero fluff. That's why it's the Best movie i have ever scene 10/10.. Fu*K love stories, gimme some nit and grit. Thank your Coen's for this masterpiece

This movie was really slow and boring to me.

You have to really like "different" movies in order to like this one. It's a bit slow and bit bloody, but I found it a great movie. Javier Bardem is so amazing/terrifying that you almost forget he's just acting. There's no music throughout the duration of the movie (like I said, "Different") but it doesn't matter. Everyone needs to see this movie at least once.

In the spirit of remaining objective yet truthful, I can't say this movie held my fancy. I tried, I really did, to sit through this attentively, and found it very hard. I couldn't pay attention to the plot, and if you asked me every five minutes what it was about, 90% of the time I wouldn't be able to tell you.

the ending never bothered me. i suppose the only real lesson is you should have stayed at home. if you expect things to be a disney ending, watch a disney movie. otherwise, welcome to the real world. 10/10 for making an 80's film feel nostalgic. not an easy task at hand.

As the title suggests, the main point of this movie is not the exciting violence but the changes that Tommy Lee Jones' character has witnessed throughout his life. The violence is really just a device to help prove that there is infact "no country for old men" anymore. The Coen brothers depicted the violence is such a fantastic way that many people overlook the rest of the plot. The contrast between the violence and the old man is there to show the difference between the past and present. I was fortunate in that I read the book before watching the movie or else I would be just as confused as everyone else. I think the fact that many people love this movie simply for the violence and miss the loss of a simpler time theme, speaks to the point of the book. There really is no country for old men only fast paced shoot 'em action for young people.
