Wow this was such a great movie. I really enjoyed it. Its one of those movies where you can obviously see how the drugs have destroyed the thinking in these young teens and poor judgement has taken over. None of these kids seemed to have to be responsible to anyone I mean come on nice cars, let mamas take care of your baby, smoke pot while pregnant, guys and girls in bedroom laying on top of one another when your mom walks in. These parents should have paid a little more attention to what their children were up to. But anyway a must see its an awsome movie!:)

I read the book for this by Jim Schultz and I could 'not' put it down. Wow. Now the real life girls (on which the film was based) looked promiscuous in the film, but they were something like teen prostitutes in the biography. That was really toned down in the film but it was hinted at.

The story shifts between the abusive friendship between dropout-surfer Marty Puccio and his best friend ( and possible lover)Bobby Kent, and Marty's budding relationship with Jennifer Connelly (played magnificently by Rachel Miner.

Because Bobby 'abused' Marty, he was able to manipulate a situation where he could rape Jennifer. Pregnant ("it could've been Marty's or Bobby's baby) and out for revenge, she set a girlfriend up on a date with Bobby, knowing Bobby would assault the friend, giving the friend a reason to side to hate Bobby.

When the entire group of Jennifer's and Marty's friends decided they'd had enough of Bobby, they plan to kill him and most of the film centers around these 'botched' plans until they finally kill him. But this film is no comedy, so don't get that idea; this film is dead serious and you will 'not' feel like laughing while watching it. The kid's lack of compassion for another human life is horrifying. They laughed after they killed Kent and even took some friends to the murder site like show-n-tell. This film should have been in the horror section. If you have a strong stomach & want to see great acting- especially by Rachel Minor- WATCH IT!

This movie is incredibly powerful moving and most of all true. a story about a boy who is brutally bullied by his friend decides to exact revenge on him. A gripping movie that must be watched by all despite the subject matter. The actors in this movie were absolutely phenomenal, Brad Renfro was amazing as Marty Puccio the bullied kid pushed to commit the murder. Every actor in this film is a talent and well most definitely make it big as we saw with Michael Pitt who played donnie in the film. I can't really say anymore about this film. definitely give it a watch. i give this movie 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this film can't believe Marty got killed he was gorgeous and the girl who was pregant to him shudn't of blabbed her mouth about killing bobby that was a daft thing to do I would say its worth watching again I luv films like this they make u wanna watch them over again

eventoe, this was based on a true story those kids shouldn't did something like that it proves that the murderers were so stupid like who really care this is old news this show vengeance no one really care l knew this a long time ago. Yeah it's ok to get mad not to brutality murdered the guy like come on use a bat oh him come on!!! that's a sick plan to do to your very own best friend why would they do such a thing. l give a rating of 3 for best acting, good actors, & it it actually follows how it really happened in real life. Too much vengeance l didn't like.

I have to disagree with the comments below, I didn't like this movie, not even Nick Stahl (Bobby)could save this for me, the main protagonists were very annoying and don't say thats how teenagers are, im one myself and they annoyed me, the movie barely seamed to get out of first gear with the main characters just talking about what their going to do for an hour and 20 minutes, in fact Bobby was the only character I liked and had sypmtahy for and he's supposed to be the one that your supposed to hate, not to mention he had a combined total of 7 people plotting his death, yes 7 v 1 and hes supposed to be the bad guy does that sound fair when the guy whoes supposed to be the bad guy is heavily outnumbered, I wont spoil the ending but it was a good one, 2/5, the 2 is for the ending and Nick Stahl.
