Broken Flowers: As the devoutly single Don Johnston is dumped by his latest girlfriend, he receives an anonymous pink letter informing him that he has a son who may be looking for him. The situation causes Don to examine his relationships with women instead of moving on to the next one, and he embarks on a cross-country search for his old flames who might possess clues to the mystery at hand.

perhaps this is something for those "of age". I'm 47 and found this movie very appealing and was able to identify with Murray's character quite well. I understood his lifestyle and his dealings with the former gf's. I really liked it.

GREAT soundtrack. This movie will keep (and leave) you guessing. Well done, offbeat drama. Worth a watch if you are a Jim Jarmusch fan and/or you like independent movies. Great weirdly unfunny part played by Bill Murray.

Cute lil indie style film-although I could find enjoyment just watching Bill Murray watch paint dry.

Nice soundtracks/ Movie kept me guessing, which is the best thing about it. Real acting with experienced actors/actresses. The end was different. 6.5/10

I guess life IS like this. Just because it sets up a mystery that I want resolved, DOESN'T mean that life has to oblige me. (If I WANTED to be reminded of that I could go oustide and MEET people!) THAT's why I prefer films! Grr. Liked Sharon Stone and Alexis Dziena as the Lolita couple.

Broken Flowers has an episodic 'chapter'-like structure. Or more precisely, series of verses. And Jarmusch's cinematic style has a distinctive literary feel to it. His editing quietly 'punctuates' each scene and sequence precisely and without distraction. The full stops and commas of cuts and fades, provide a clear narrative structure, so that when the camera or the lens move, or the shot is held, it is precisely the contrast that makes it work so well. And like a good poet, Jarmusch likes to leave words, images and phrases hanging in the air. Unexplained. Unresolved. Jarmusch's great quality as a filmmaker is that his work is participative - a dialogue with his audience and their own experience. And like all good poems Broken Flowers will mean different things to different people even though its basic facts are not in doubt.

Don Johnston- clearly a not-so-subtle jab at real-life 80s heartbreaker Don Johnson, now married to an oil heiress, apparently. Broken Flowers delivers one of Bill Murray's best performances- as he ages his abundant dramatic talent becomes as obvious as his comic gifts. He is vaguely sad, but in a poignant way. The flowers on the poster, by the way, are stunning...I'll have to have some delivered via online flower delivery from http://www.refreshflowers.com.

What a waste of time, a slow, dull movie with no ending. The only thing that kept me watching was to find out who his son was, and/or who sent him the letter, none of which was even close to being answered. Jarmusch Shmarmusch. Never heard of this director, but don't see why other ppl think hes so great, this movie was worthless. Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors, but he maybe uttered 10-15 lines the whole movie. I could've done that and I've never acted before.
