Watch This Film Is Not Yet Rated: In a rare and refreshing reversal of roles, filmmakers put the powerful Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA for short) under the microscope for inspection in Academy Award-nominated director Kirby Dick's incisive look at stateside cinema's most notorious non-censoring censors. Compelled by the staggering amount of power that the MPAA ratings board wields, the filmmaker seeks out the true identities of the anonymous elite who control what films make it to the multiplex. He even goes so far as to hire a private investigator to stake out MPAA headquarters and expose Hollywood's best-kept secret. Along the way, Dick speaks with numerous filmmakers whose careers have been affected by... |

The coperations own to much of the media, army, government, money and power. The governments serve for there interists, not the intrest of the public we need a rovlution to overthrow our corrupt goverments that serve the coperations when the government was made to server the people and stop the coperations from doing what they have done today.

saw this at school and had to come back and watch it, i needed to! This documentary is amazing, a must see for everyone!! It could be better but it has a lot of information! They missed out, or took out a lot of noteworthy info, like Kevin Smith's appeals that he always wins agains the MPAA etc, but it's A MUST SEE

very important film to understand why the MPAA doe a bad and immoral job at what they do. There is no set guidelines for filmmakers, and if you do an indie film, they wont even tell you what to fix to change the rating. They are working for the top Hollywood studios to work against other filmmakers. They need to be stopped for artistic freedoms sake.

Is the censoring part of the documentary or was it added after? It definitely looks very amateur.

Wow this certainly portrays the rating system in a negative way, this documentary was fantastic with being able to inform me more about the rating system and how biased it actually is. 6.7/10 I thought it was very interesting as the movie industry is something I am fascinated with, after seeing this I want to become a movie rater:) I like how the documentary gets the opinions of people who I know are involved in the movie indusrty such as Kevin Smith, Maria Bello and Darren Aronofsky. The documentary seemed to focus more on sexual elements in movies rather than drug use and violence, however it did touch on those things. I like the whole idea of the audience going around with a private investigator to snoop around and to discover things. I agree with the majority of speakers who are against the current rating system, one person said that if an action movie doesn't show blood when someone gets shot then it should be rated R because it's influencing young minds that if you do shoot someone that there will be no consequences.

And that is why Hollywood rarely produces a decent a film and the world is quickly catching up. It is subtle propaganda, they are manipulating if not generating opinions on specific issues by promoting certain opinions and showing certain images.

I really liked this documentary. It gave an open an honest view about the current MPAA rating system and its obvious flaws. I was surprised that I had seen almost all the movies mentioned lol. It was rated in Australia as MA15+ (which is simply restricted to those 15 years and over). I'd give it 7/10, it was very good for what it was.
