Watch A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story: Based on a true story. As a young boy, Eddie Araujo always felt different somehow. She started putting on her mom's makeup and wearing her mom's clothes, which her mom found odd. By the time she entered her teen years, Eddie could no longer hide the fact that she was a lot different, that she was meant to be female and not male. When she finally accepted it and with her mom's eventual support, Eddie changed her name to Gwen and started to live life as female until a tragic night changed everything. |

J D Pardo was awesome as Eddie/Gwen in this movie based on a true story. I am so glad I watched it and had a chance to understand the pain and suffering Gwen must have gone through to fit into a judgmental world. I salute her because she bore more than what most would in a lifetime.

very beautiful movie about a very beautiful woman who's life was taken away by hate crimes. I made me tear up and it made me angry that no justice was served for this crime. If you ever have the chance to google Gwen's name do so and you will find what I consider to be a very beautiful woman, She to me didn't look like a man, she looked like a woman in every way and I wish I had meet her before this had happened. RIP Gwen, may your soul finally find the peace that you deserve.
