Henry, a New York writer of children's stories, suffering from OCD, falls for a young, down on her luck graphic artist Lucy, when both have no choice but to work together on a project. Billy Crudup's portrayal of Henry, is superb as a dysfunctional, anti-social, lonely man, forced to come to the realisation that his way of being needs challenging. Directed with sympathy for Henry, Justin Thereoux makes us fall for this difficult to love, man. Everyone in this film is brilliant including an artful cameo of Peter Bogdanovich. New comer Mandy Moore is adorable as the intelligent, independent Lucy, that begins to see hope, in Henry. 'Dedication' is not your usual run of the mill Romantic Comedy, it's also a touching story of the love and friendship of two men. Additionally it doesn't rely on the usual goof ball characterizations we often see in Rom Coms. This is a really funny, heart warming tale with authentic characters and all the right ingredients for a superior Rom Com, especially if like me, you are usually disappointed by plethora of mediocre Hollywood Rom Com's, featuring well groomed A Lister's, Dedication will not disappoint you. Excellent script and complementary soundtrack. { It has a miserly 6.7 rating on IMDb, easily a 8.8. for my money } I do have a couple of quibbles which I won’t mention however, still worthy of a 4.5 star rating. Highly recommend.

9/10 Loved this film. The characters are SUCH characters and very well cast. Balaban is classic. Wilkinson and Crudup; the entire cast do a solid job.

not what I expected but M. Moore's acting wasn't bad

V. sweet, funny and well written film. Enjoyed it much more then I thought I would. Great acting by all involved especially from Billy Crudup who plays mean and weird so well! Shame there weren't more scenes between Mandy Moore and Dianne West because the few they had together were hilarious....freezer+Dildo+Mum=CRINGE!lmao...enjoy:) 4/5

I actually liked the film. It had a very indie, unconventional vibe to it and the acting from all involved was solid. Plus, the chemistry between the two leads was believable. And yeah, Mandy Moore's super hot.

Loneliness , it could crush us into dust , it could kill us slowly and painfully from inside to outside in time. Loneliness is one of the biggest our enemy . We can't let her get us down and die inside. this movie is slow and strange , but it tells us a story about liberation from Loneliness , about warmness set inside and changed our look to world and it's goodness and badness . In every bad we may see something good... 4/5
