Closer to the book, I can understand why it was modified for the original film. The interview angle/point of view sucked. 1/10

Carrie, the Original, is one of my favorite movies. That being said, this version is actually closer to the book then the original. I love the book also.

I love the original Carrie and was expecting this remake to suck. I actually enjoyed it. The girl who plays Carrie is a pretty good actress and captured Carrie's loneliness and vulnerability. The ending is different from the original movie and book, but this movie is worth watching.

More films of the same thing, why not make something new! IT'S GOOD, and I have nothing bad to say about it. Have fun watching it :-)

FUN FACT: in the original, Sue played by Amy Irving, who looks a lot like the Sue in this version, and who actually shows up in Carrie Rage, playing the adult Sue who warns the Rage Carrie about Carrie White, who Sue knew many years before, tying the Carrie Rage into the original, Also, Amy Irving's, Sue, real mom played her character's mom in the original Carrie. Also, at the end of the original, when Sue was walking to Carrie's grave, if you look closely, you will see that she is actually walking backwards and the film was made reverse, so it looks like she is walking normally. You can see cars in the background driving in reverse. This "effect" added an eeriness to her walk, so the director used it.

While the leading actress's performance is nearly perfect, this version exaggerated Carrie's powers to a point that made the entire movie look unconvincing; it was like she could've collided Mars into Earth if she wanted to with the cornified powers of The Phoenix from X-Men. They emphasize her supernatural exploits so much that it would logically be impossible for all of these characters to not realize the culprit behind it or at least see it as downright strange, but as if it were forgettable, none of them speculated a thing and went on living obliviously, even the victims. You'd think a remake of an original would be LESS corny than the original, but it's actually even cornier.

Not near as good as the original, but it did stick really close to it. I feel so sorry for Carrie. The acting was alright. But there were some dumb parts in this one. If you've seen the original then I would recommend you watch this.

for a really cheap tv production a really good movie…in some ways better then the original, in some ways worse, but definitely worth a watch. i'm just wondering why they changed the ending…

I really liked this remake, the actors were much better into the character and the story was just right. Except the ending... I didn't like the ending at all. That is just something Stephen King would never write... Stephen King does no happy endings, not even little ones. It's just a shame they changed that, the rest of the movie was great.

Wow! I really enjoyed this version of the story. Angela Bettis plays the role of Carrie with immense sensitivity and provokes real sympathy for the character. A very engaging performance. I think from memory that this version was a lot more like the book although they did end differently. I like the ending in this movie much better than either that in the book or Brian De Palma's version. The actress who plays Sue Snell is a very striking looking woman, as is the actress who plays the gym teacher. Very worthwhile watch.

I liked it. It was a good remake. I think it was ok that they did not follow the first one to a tee. Still Carrie still freaky.

Excellent re-make of DePalma's film. Angela Bettis does a fantasti job as Carrie White and even though this movie is quite different from the original, it works very well!! Highly recommended!!
