If they used Gene Wilder in the new version I think it would've been great, this is still my favorite one. And it was mostly due to the fact that the way it was done was interesting compared to how they do things now, I mean back then they didn't have computer generated graphics, but I'm telling you what, if they did I'm sure this one would have never been remade. The classics are still the best in my opinion. I feel why mess with somethings that's already good. Find something else to remake, but leave ones like this alone.

I don't know why they remade this, the newer generation are stuck with the bad version. Johnny Depp was a terrible Willy Wonka

This is one of my favorite movies. it has a magic to it that few movies achieve. plus this one is closer to the book than the Johnney Depp one. wonka isn't that innocent of a person in this one he will get angry and frusturated, but that makes him a more 3 dimensional charecter. see this movie, you won't regret it...

this movie is great bt i like the river in the other movie better....considering the year this was made just awesome....

Amazing performance by Gene Wilder I remember an interview where he saw the script and wanted to make the character more mysterious and dark.I think that was what really made the movie.

The music in this is amazing. Very enjoyable, there are only a few boring parts. Super original film! It's a beautiful and wonderful creation. Enjoy. 5/5.

The original still leaves the remake in the dust. After almost 40 years this is still a great, great movie. Gene Wilder as Wonka is the best and leaves me laughing every time: what a likable and funny character. I will always love to watch this movie. It's a classic. 5/5
