10/10: Again brilliant Special Effects and wondrefull cast. Middle earth looked as i imagined it. A lot more action in this and the war at helms deep was breathtaking. Again better to watch the longer extended version - makes more sense.

omigawd!~! it just keeps better and better! i am falling more and more in love with teh characters and the world and the plot.. i really wanna read the trilogy so bad xD the landscape is so perfect and mystfying and i cant wait to watch the documentary about the making of this xD the story is slow but its really beautiful that i couldnt find it boring, every piece of it was essential for the development but seriously i expected them to get the ring destroyed in the first movie but i aint complaining! the hobbits are so cute, btw. and legolas ais just so pretty and aragorn a hottie :D hahaha and elijah's eyes! they were blue and pretty but i kindda noticed that it kindda turned green in one scene, seems like somebody else noticed besides me :) anyways i cant comment enough on how much i enjoyed this 15/10

Ok, as I'm sure everyone knows by now, the movie of the missing part of the story, the first book, has finally been made. The first part of the story, of Bilbo Baggins' journey, finding the ring, etc. It's called The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. What some of you may NOT know yet is that that isn't all! For those of you who don't know it yet, we're about to be gifted with another Trilogy. Part 1 is the Unexpected Journey and comes out in 13 days! I'll have my ticket on Wednesday. Gonna see it in I-Max 3D. Expensive but totally worth it to be completely immersed in the adventure of a lifetime. However, Part 2 is coming. It will be released December 13th of 2013, a year from now! Long time to wait for it, but the first 3 were a year apart too, so I guess we'll all survive the wait. Part 2 is called The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Part 3 will come out on July 18, 2014, so only a 6 month wait for the finale! It will be called The Hobbit: There and Back Again, of course. Just like the title of Bilbo's book. Some have asked why they are making another trilogy from possibly the shortest book of the story. Who knows really, but here is my guess. Beyond the obvious reason of the extra millions they'll make from having 3 movies instead of just the one, there is also the fact that there was a HELL of a lot of ground to cover from that first book. Many many adventures along the way, from the trolls, to Smeagle, to the great war with the wolves and orcs and all that, to the deal with Smaug and sooo much more. To cover it all in only one movie would have made either a very very long movie, or they'd have had to leave out an awful lot, and I for one, am glad they decided to cover it all in 3 separate movies! Hell, I'd love it if they made a dozen or more movies...I'd see them ALL! Wouldn't you? Well, again, if you already knew this info, please bear with me, it was intended for those who might NOT know it yet. Wouldn't want anyone to miss out and now we all will have something to drive us crazy waiting for for the next year and a half. lol

The best Trilogy in Books and Movie

This one was awesome. Especially the battle scenes. Probably my fav from the trilogy. 10/10 Also, can't get over what an unfortunate character Golem/Smeagle is. Soo sad sometimes.

I'm gonna go against the current of positive reviews here. Also, these comments are without having watched any previous Lord of the Rings movies and with a simple direct view with no fantasy fanaticism. First, I found the overall movie BORING. Why? Because it moves SO slowly, like a soap, only without the love entanglements. The whole thing is about a merlinesque medieval world, in which at least four stories run parallel. In the end it becomes very tacky because scenes go round and round, and at over 3 hours long this is quite a yawn, with dialogues which are hard to understand for the uninitiated. The battle is the only true action interesting part. but once has to wait only till about the end of the movie to watch it. The production is spectacular indeed, but it does not make justice for the whole boring ultralong story in my opinion. So if you're into fantastic medieval/magical adventures this movie will be a treasure keeping your head in the clouds. For the rest who keep their feet on the ground, just pass this one. 5/10
