Watch C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America: Set in an contemporary alternative world where the Confederate States of America managed to win the American Civil War, a British film documentary examines the history of this nation. Beginning with its conquest of the northern states, the film covers the history of this state where racial enslavement became triumphant and the nation carried sinister designs of conquest. Interspersed throughout are various TV commercials of products of a virulent racist nature as well as public service announcements promoting this tyranny. Only at the end do you learn that there is less wholly imagined material in the film than you might suspect.

Looking through civil war movies and I came across this film. I watched it a few years ago. I can't remember where or how I even managed to find it. If I recall, it was linked off an article about Spike Lee (one of the films producers) something. this was, i think, back in 07. I thought it was just me, but judging from the comments I see here, I believe I can say that this film has an... unsettlingly realistic quality to it. More-so than any movie I think I've ever seen. The conviction of the actors in expressing unfamiliar concepts while in a familiar environment, has a way of playing with your mind. I suppose because the viewer knows that, at one time, it was within reach. Some of the subject matter in the film, particularly the revision of WW2, is also disturbingly plausible. Eerily potent film.

Really glad I came across this, by total accident, very well put together fictional documentary, I have been very interested in American History lately and this mirrors a lot of my feelings and thoughts, but it still scared the hell out of me. The Ads again very smartly written, the horror is, these could so easily have been true, characters did a good job also.

wow do you live in the south? have you ever stayed there for an extended amount of time? if not you need to because you need to get a better point of view. I live in the mississippi delta just 50 miles south of memphis. The way i see things is a lot of african americans are racist to white people because our ANCESTORS had slaves. But our ANCESTORS have nothing to do with the people we are today. My husband and I's best friend is a 63 year old african american. The small town we live in is 95% black and we have no problem what so ever. I know everyone in town and they know me. But my point is that alot of people in the south are not at all racist and do NOT believe slavery was right.

Did the American Civil War end in 1865?...I mean really end! I know everybody puts the reasons for the conflict on slavery, but the real question of sovereignty and the prospect of a country within a country could not be tolerated... If you care to look deeply into some of the Southern States populace attitudes...not a lot has changed... Seems that way to me anyhoo....
