Red Dawn and WarGames: The Brat Pack averts nuclear war! They were both good movies, but I have to laugh when I look at their casts... Red Dawn: Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey, Lea Thompson, and WarGames: Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy! All we need is Molly Ringwald:)

Better than I thought it was going to be, I actually enjoyed this movie quit a bit. Interesting plot. Worth seeing, especially if you like movies about war!

One of the best 80's Republican propaganda films ever made. Right up there with Rocky IV. I mean there are multitudes of ridiculous scenes here (like firing a rocket into an empty school bus?)But that's what propaganda does best: feed into the paranoia to tame the masses!

A true classic to this day. I remember seeing it quite a bit on cable as a kid. I did see the remake and I feel it was wasted time and money. Not only is the idea of North Korea invading America preposterous, but with the exception of Chris Hemsworth who has proven to be a very good actor, the rest of the cast are mere Disney Channel and WB fodder. I just couldn't buy the bad acting, plot, and beautiful people cast.

Bet the Wolverines are glad they finally got assault weapons from the enemy! Ours won't be like this. It won't be a foreign invasion. The threat is from within. More and more underground news is talking about a confrontation between big government and the individuals ... the Wolverines, if you will. Govt is buying up all the ammo they can get and trying to ban defensive weapons - not hunting weapons, but tools we can use to defend ourselves from them. This is a training film.

Or maybe Germany and Italy after they started WWII and murdered so many thousands of innocent people? Or how we took over and destroyed Japan even after they attacked us? Stupid. Look at the Marshall Plan (ever heard of it?) How about the way we've crushed Iran or No. Korea with their hate-the-Americans attitudes? Idiot. We defend weaker people. We stand up for freedom. We are not as strong as we were, thanks to your messiah, Obama, but we are still the world's best hope. America is still where oppressed people flee to. You need to get your history right and straighten out your thinking, child. Or hop a freighter for the Middle East.

1 of my all time favs watched like 1000 times 5/5, curios about the remake nov. 2010??? R.I.P. Patrick Swayze 2 sad, wife & i grew up watching him :(

EVERY country has their own heroic "defend and conquer" movies. No reason to remake and one can only hope they don't slaughter this classic! 5/5

Red Dawn is a good bit of Right Wing Propaganda, If the truth was known it would be more likely that western world would do the invading, Oh wait they all ready are. Still good bit of Action Fiction, well worth the watch.

One of my all time favorite films 5/5. I hope the remake can live up to peoples expectations even though considering that they changed it from Russia invading to North Korea.

Very good movie. What ever happened to the remake? It was in theaters for like two weeks, and I've never heard of it, or been able to find it, since.

This film seemed too childish for me the whole "Wolverines" thing seemed too cheesy and a lot of the action seemed fake, it looked like the troops were just falling down and playing dead. 3.3/10

its really not aged to badly if im honest. The main difference between this and the new one is the new one is average for its time/now where as this one when released was at the top of its game. Still a very watchable film though there are a couple of cheesy/cringeworthy moments in it
