Not a bad movie given the times it was made . There is a certain realism to it but not completely like radiation sickness for example. The movie portrays some aspects of it but not all. In anycase a remake of this flick would be great.

perhpas, the best crafted post-nuclear film created - at times feels more like a documentary, which in an usual way, places you more in the action than perhaps as a viewer I am comfortable with - jason robards deliver an intelligent engaging lead - infinitely superior to films like the road - a must watch 5 stars

A really good and disturbing film. Ghastly realistic and extremely dystopic. A well deserved 4/5 stars from me.

I will watch this flick every 20 years just to keep myself humble. Life can change in a second, never take it for granted. Good movie 4.5/5

This was a bit too realistic, in some ways. It actually got my heart racing and my breathing shallow and fast. It may be dated but it was so well depicted that it stands the test of time. I remember having nuclear bomb emergency practices in my school as a very young child living in Florida. The story presented in this film was all too possible and very much a part of our daily lives at one point in time. I fervently hope those days never return...

Kids today don't realize how possible these "Red Dawn" scenarios were. The eighties was the last decade that America feared a nuclear situation. When the cold war ended we stopped watching the safety films in school. Like getting on the floor and sticking your head between your legs was really gonna benefit us. Anyway, this movie scared the hell outta me then. Good cast too. 3.5/5

This is one of thos movies everyone should watch.. Its something that we should all think about..One of the best dramas on how the world could end up,,if we dont start looking at things a differnt way.. Great storyline and cast.. Decent acting.. This is a must see drama,, thats alot like a documentry.. Gave this movie 9/10.. Enjoy!1

it has a lot to show, in fact, more than some new made movies such as "The road" or "The wasteland". Unlike those, this movie is well made and actually HAS the postapocaliptic feeling and atmosphere.
