movie fucked my brains out

There are different genres for a reason-not everyone likes the same type of movie. I wasn't aware you needed intelligence to watch a movie! Re your concern regarding spelling-this is a movie site, not an academic forum! If you're so concerned about peoples spelling, take up teaching English grammar. Not everyone has to conform to the majority opinion.

This film-which was past due for a viewing for me-has inspired me to make a Kubrick's playlist. Go and check me out there (can't post the link yet :0P) I read a rather lengthy review while watching the movie and it is clear that there is something deeper going on here then jealousy, infidelity and sex. It definitely has sociological implications of how all the world is consumer-driven sheep who inevitably and essentially get f$%^d(at high frequency most of the time). Considering the nature of humans it only makes sense to distract from the harsh truth that we are all bought commodities with the blinding escaping pleasure of orgasms and alot of them :)

Difficult movie to watch in 1 sitting, very dark, crude, makes you feel uncomftable, just another Kubrick movie. Personally I love this movie, if you like art movies this is the one you should be watching. Rated R. 5/5

not a movie that i would like but i loved it!!

A bit contrived. The acting is so forced, lines delivered with a sort of stunted sense of self importance. Plus, Kidman's horrific over acting when she is stoned/drunk is uncomfortable to watch.

Kubrick is a nutcase and this movie is to show the lives of rich severe loonies and intiations in secrets societies. Illuminati all the way, and no it's not provocative it's disturbing. Welcome to the freakshow and red lights district. Not intelligent at all, and the word normal does not exist in Kubricks traumatized mind. -1 Gazillion/Crap. Dscaggs have you seen mouth wide shut? to those losers who take away my karma for this comment, go ahead, but karma's gonna bite you too!

the goal of this movie was to expose something...according to the book i'm reading, the house/location in the movie where the ritual took place is legit and still performs acts like this... amazing how the truth is then covered up so that it doesn't point to the one's behind it all... all identities being covered up so you never knew all the influential ppl involved... start paying attention ppl please!

Many of the contributors and their comments have more than rated this film (both good and bad) as they felt so I cannot add much, except to say that for me the most telling lines are right at the end. And I think this is the message that Kubrick wanted to reveal! We all choose to sleep and dream and not to accept the reality of what is really going on in this world.

My absolute favorite movie of all time. I've loved this movie ever since I first saw it. Amazing is all I can say about Stanley Kubrick. 10/10 I'm not gonna get into the deep complexities of the film itself. Just wanted to comment on my favorite movie of all time.

Didnt do it for me. Im not even sure wtf i just watched or what the point was or if there ever was one. Long and boring. And i wanted to break that damn piano music in the background lol.

big big fan of Nicole but not Tom so I've only decided to watch it today since I came across it. as to what I have to say about this film... hummm.. loved the elegance, costumes and such beautiful women including Nicole being the most beautiful one. the mind playing / control was.. not sure what word to use here but either some of you will get it and some of you will not but watch it. way worth the watch. I give it 5/5

will never forget that movie. i love arthur schnitzler, the author and i can't get enough of sky dumont! i will let every generation of my pupils watch it!

Liked the subplot that as insulated (or safe) as the rich doctor and his wife felt from hoi polloy, based on income, there is yet another group that is even safer. Really liked the scene where Kidman told Cruise about her desire to commit adultery, it really rocked his seemingly firm foundation. Like the title, it's perfect for the dream within a dream plotline. Love the music at the 'ceremony'.

Just so you know...it's probably shitty because the producer was very ill at the time of the filming of this movie & VERY off his game. He also made Full Metal Jacket & Paths of Glory...both in the top 100 all time IMDB most liked movies of all time. I believe he died of a massive heart attack just 3 days after the final scene of this movie was shot.

I gave it chance and should have watched it eyes wide shut. I am sure the book was better. Kubrick has a way of turning a story into a mindless mind trip. Only people who would love this would be young boys for the nudity. Pass on this one. I gave you fair warning. Cruise is one short son of a bitch.......

You will get it, or you won't. You will love it or you won't. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground. As a Kurbrick fan I love it. I think it's one of his best, if not the best of his movies. But then again... he never made a bad one.

a lot of people either dislike this movie or don't understand it, or even find it boring, or just glorified nudity. i can personally remember seeing it when i was about 14 or 15 when it first hit video, and it kind of made me unsettled when i really picked apart the whole thing. just to think that extremely powerful people have added you to their ' to do' list is nerve racking. then to find out they were in your own home with your sleeping wife and daughter, and could easily have killed them... think about it before you decide you hate it... this is one of those 'you have to be in the mood to watch it in particular' movies lol

its a good film , miscast

I had never seen this, but brutal honesty is something we don't give each other and sometimes it isn't as bad as you think. I really loved this movie. 10/10.

Sadly, Kubrick last film is a bit overlong and boring, with unnecessary (In my humble opinion) nudity. I guess he died before his final vision was completed. 8/10

I totally agree with raspberry wrong actors, there realationship difficulties were very evident. Good story though 2/5

Am I the only one who notices their is no story. It's just random sex scenes that never tie together nor make any real sence. What was Kubrick thinking with this peice of garbage. PS, Anythuing with leelee Sobieski will suck.

I always thought they were perfect together, don't really understand why they got divorced but Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman will be the perfect match made in Heaven where I exsist. Great film, very erotic but Kidman does use the word "fuck" an awful lot. Artistic and yet Tom really does the film justice, although I imagine all the scenes they must have cut I'd like to see the behind the scenes footage! 8/10

Goddammit Kubrick this is the worst film you ever made. When you look at the splendor of all his other films and then this it makes me sad. The writing is shit, the angles are crap, bleeechhh. Believe me I've tried to find something in this that I like and I can't. I hate it and you will too. Watch some other Kubrick film please. 0/5

Probably they selected the wrong actors for this movie nicole and tom was already having a downfalls in their so called marriage so there vibe projected unto the screen . i believe there need to be a click that will make the movie more interesting the characters more alive they did a terrible job in acting. i rate this movie a 2/5. I love tom cruise but this one didnt suit him.

This movie might of been "Eyes Wide Shut," but her legs were wide open. 3 - 5 stars.
