this was on the video nasty banned list but slipped the net and found its way its way into the video shops via some shady distributors.I watched it when i about 6years old and it stuck with me..the raft scene imprinted itelf on my brain for years,until i was about 14 and a video stall on a market in manchester had a list of video nasty's under the counter..this was the first one i asked for,and the stall owner insisted on dropping it at my house to make sure i wasnt a setup('cos i think he was selling films of a different nature as well..a hefty jail sentence was attatched to selling banned films)..anyway,this film started my obsession with films in general..its one of the best from that era and in my view puts friday 13th well into the shade..it was the springboard for many an actor..just see how many faces you recognise that went onto become well known film and tv actors...and a suitably cheesy and disturbing soundtrack b Rick Wakeman as well...im 32 now and the nightmares have stopped,but its still effective..tom savini defo new how to make you squirm ..watch it..one of the best old horrors...7/10

i remember back in the day when this was banned along with clockwork orange, texas chainsaw and a few other movies at the time in britain. we had to watch these films back in the day on pirate video lol. gonna go watch it now n see if its all that from what i remember back then.

When I watched this film i was a teen...

FOR A LONG TIME HORROR FAN, THIS FILM WAS WORTH WATCHING IT, BUT IT'S NOT WORTH BUYING IT.

I was for a good sound track (Composed & Preformed by Rick Wakeman) but it was as bad as the movie.

Already saw Friday the 13th, but thanks.
