its not the best robin hood movie but its up their with the greats. i found it quite slow to start and the story line is sketchy at best but all together a good movie to watch if you need to kill time or are a fan of films for tv

When I first saw this movie advertised I absolutely had to watch and I must say that although I, like everyone else knows the whole Robin Hood story line, the film did have its little twist within the story. If you have not sen the movie as yet you should still give the film a watch.

Robin Hood is a very professionally made film. Great actors, great production design, great images. It is nice to watch because you feel you are in the capable hands of Ridley Scott. But do not expect to be amazed by the story or the acting. Apart from dame Marion, the characters are two dimensional and predictable. The film pretends to be historically correct, but is of course a well dressed fantasy. There are a few battle scenes, filmed in the Gladiator way. They are exciting, but not very convincing. In fact, they are completely ridiculous when you think you are watching a historically correct film. The worst for me were the boats in the final battle, apparently trying to induce a D-Day feeling.

Overall, the story is off balance. Some scenes have a very slow pace, while other scenes, often key elements that explain how Robin Hood came into existence, are reduced to a few shots and proclamations. The end of the film tells it all: it reminds us that we were supposed to see the story of how the legend of Robin Hood started. The makers just forgot to tell it.

Overall rather somewhat dissapointing but ok if you have an extra 2 hours.
It lacked a real spark (very little chemistry). You could see the makers were setting themselves up for a sequel. Now dispite Robin Hood being ficticous. The events played out were actually factually based. With that being said the movie really reaked havoc on historical events. King Richard died in 1199 but the battle they fought with the invading French possibly called the Dover was real but it was fought in or around 1216 which is 17 years later not a few weeks/days as the movie portrays secondly the Magna Carter was first issued in 1215. 16 years after Richard's death. John did ultim. refuse it because of artcle 61-which led to the Baron's wars. But their is no reference to Isaac or Ivanhoe.
