It's the first time i've seen it, and even though it's more than 20 years old, i didn't find it so slow and 80's boring as most flicks from the 80's have the tendency to be. It was long, but nothing bad about it. I enjoyed it when things were starting to roll. Ed Harris was so young! His character lifted up the movie. I love water movies & I liked the message and story in this 4/5

The last great movie James Cameron did. Fantastic story, great effects, great atmosphere and amazing acting.

Great movie, the story's very good and I didn't find this slow at all. It's a long film but it's got a lot going on, there's no need for action all the time and good science fiction can be made without it. Clever alien concept; quite advanced special effects for the time, obvious quality of James Cameron, and a wondrous piece of acting by the cast. This was the hardest film shooting ever to some of them, and no doubt they did it perfectly. Loved it back in the first time, can't get enough of it now.

This movies has great visual effects, a great cast, great storyline, etc. An amazing movie from James Cameron. Loved this movie the very first time I watched it years ago and plan on watching it many more times. It is a beautiful movie 5/5

awesome movie!!! my daughter had the pleasure of enjoying it with me this time! i love it when my kids get to see some of the best movies made and this is for sure one of them! a must see movie indeed!

I guess James Cameron is a believer in the Dogons of Mali,West Africa's,Oral traditions and knowledge of the universe passed down from generations, since 3200 BCE in Egypt, until their from banishment from Egypt in 1336 BCE. Being from West Africa myself I found this movie to be interesting, the extraterrestrials in this movie is similar to what the Dogons called "Nommos". The Dogons will be visited by two French anthropologists, Marcel Griaule and Germain Dieterlen in the 1930's and the Dogon's knowledge of our star system will not be seen or proven to be true until 1970, because astronomers did not have the technology to see that far into space. I suggest you youtube the Dogons before watching this movie it will make this movie enjoyable and explanatory to those who have questions.

Awesome Sci-Fi film. Definitely going in my favorites. The effects were great, the character development was amazing, and the story was well done. The only thing I would be iffy about is whether or not it belongs in the Alien sub-genre. Even still I give it a 10/10
