Watch The Cure: Dexter, age 11, who has AIDS, and his next door neighbor Eric, a little older and much bigger, become best friends. Eric also becomes closer to Dexter's mother than to his own, who is neglectful and bigoted and violently forbids their friendship upon learning of it. This amazing film was very touching and I am not one to easily cry and this story did... one of the best movies about children living with Aids.

Only just seen this movie for the first time, and i loved it! A real happy friendship movie all the way till the end when it made me cry my eyes out. Especially the shoe bit. Great movie.

oh my god, these tragic friendship stories all hold a formula that just makes me blow my nose all over my shirt. i mean come on, havent i watched enough? but seriously, this is just precious. im so happy i came across this. both of the characters were really well played. the scenes by the water were really pretty and captured childhood beautifully. and yeah.. Eric is eye candy. right now, i just dont know. im so sad. 10/10 i have the same pair of sneakers, damnit.

So sad that the boy who played eric died of a overdose 1 week before heath ledger died. Great movie. very touching.
