Interesting themes in this movie but I felt it lacked true direction in what it wanted to express and be. I know that sounds rather arrogant of me, however I will still recommend it. It is beautifully filmed. I also was impressed with Jude Law's performance. I had really never thought much of him as an actor but his performance held this movie together. But whatever. Worth a onetime watch at least.

this is a great movie...though at the ending, i'm not so sure Jude Law had to do that..or if he did, they could have shown a little more of a reason why..unless i missed something (possible) he really didn't seem to be the type of guy to do that...also Ethan's role often reminded me of some of Tom Cruise's characters..maybe thats just me? ha! a great film overall though 4/5

Such a good movie. I love it even more the second time round. We also study this in R.E at school because its about cloning still not sure what cloning has to do with R.E anyway still I enjoyed it very much.

Good movie; which raises serious emotional and ethical decisions. When I was in college phych. we where asked to review certain people with serious genetic anomalies and many people agreed they probably should not be born. The teacher then would continue to tell us who these people were and how they changed the world. In this case the young man succeeded by what we call heart. Which is actually the will power. It is often our desire to strive an not just survive but to excel. This is a part of our natural selection or we would not be here. Anyway I could go on and on here but just watch and enjoy or not its your choice 10/10

Such a great movie. I'm surprised it came out in 1997. Also, I didn't think it was going to be as good as it was. I don't understand why he did that in the end. I suppose he fulfilled his life's purpose and no longer felt the need to suffer.

This movie was not well received at the box office,and I don't understand why!Great story,great acting,appropriate twists.Though honestly,I would have liked to have seen Jude Laws' character make a different choice at the end of the film.That was the only thing I found disappointing about the movie at all,but I understand why he would do what he did.Still,would have been nice if Laws' character had chosen a path similar to Hawks' character,and overcome his "disability",so to speak.Seems to me,he misled Hawk when he said he was going to do some traveling too,but I guess Hawk will find that out when sees the wheelchair upon his return home.Would have liked to have seen more of Tony Shaloub as well,but that's a minor infraction. :)

Great futuristic scifi movie, its not meant to be a thriller just fyi, but it is good...interesting is more the word, itd be hard for it not to be with the actors that are in it. Nice little twist there at the end. 3.5/5 Worth watching.

Thia is a awesome sci-fi flick! The acting is terrific and the storyline superb. It's something we can all relate to in a way. How we strive to exceed our own limitations as well as the ones others label us with in order to accomplish our dreams. Sadly this vision of the future might not be far off. I can definitely the advancements in today's DNA mapping technology translating into the future of tomorrow revolving around not what you can be, but what your DNA supposedly says you WILL be. The ending was sad but triumphant as well. 10/10

I had put off watching this movie for several reasons, but gave into it today. found it to be a good movie, with great acting and so-so visuals. however, i find the script to be a bit close to reality - unfortunately - and therefore found this movie emotionally disturbing if one stops to think about how much "genetic engineering" is taking place in todays births. a bit frieghtening. 7/10

This movie is so good that if you dislike Jude Law (I know a lot of people do), you'll have to like him after seeing this just for being part of such a unique, well done movie.

I don't get what the fuss is all about. I found this movie to be a bit ridiculous. It falls quite short in the area of "brilliant" and actually could have been made so much better. I'm still trying to figure out why they financed this film. It could have been written so much better. 3/10 for me.

Movie that is leagues beyond its time. I really wish I could say the same for most old films that people recommend to me, but I could tell they were really old. Gattaca seems ageless. 5/5
