Groundbreaking anime. Pushing the envelope on cyber hacking and mind control. 9/10

Whil being a good visually satisfying film I still can't help but eel when it's over that it could have been so much more than it is. I love the concept and though we learn very little about the characters I still like them as well.

i dont know if im supossed to read the manga before watching this but i felt really lost .. like im missing something important

I remember seeing an advert in a playstation one magazine for this film when was a kid so I thought I would watch it, I got to say I liked it a lot but it felt like a short movie.

If you've not seen Ghost in the Shell, then you've never lived. A MUST SEE!!

Classic anime franchise with its own video games, comics, toys, etc. Watch it once if you are in the mood. If you don't like it then don't ever watch it again. That is the greatest thing about freedom. Those that don't practice it, don't deserve it. Cheers!!!

Great movie. Every time I watch it, it's great all over again. Something that was so before it's time, that it transcends time and remains relevant, even more so, now. I love the ghost/shadow idea. Strangely enough the concept of a 'double existence'/'shadow existence type of thing is actually more plausible through psychological manipulation these days than that of cybernetics (which we just haven't got to yet). But neuro-linguistic programming/re-programming is frequently unethically employed outside of military usage, which was initially supposedly to be used to obstruct enemy "brainwashing". Currently it is employed by the global elite/empire & imposed upon minds traumatized by war/ethnic cleansing to do the bidding of foreign (American,British,French,German,Israeli) intelligence agencies/military. i.e. the creation of a 'suicide bomber' (which is completely contrary to the nature of human psychology&self preservation). Via Murdock's Media, too many of us now co-exist with little 'ghosts' of mass consensus in our Zombie shells.

A superb movie. Makes you realise how powerful animation can be. I often say that I think this movie is better than Blade Runner, to which people say "no way". Perhaps it's not quite as visionary, but it's definitely a tighter, snappier and very similar storyline. Highly recommended. 4/5

One of my favourite Manga movies along with movies like Fist of the North Star,Akira and Ninja Scroll to name but a few,this one really helped popularise the genre for western audiences.Ghost in the shell is a look into the not to distant future and some of the moral dilemmas society will have to come to terms with as man and machine become indistinguishable,9/10.
