Was a little slow to begin with then as the movie progressed it got more interesting, wasn't overly great but had some "AH" moments :-)

very upsetting film very well made

Its funny, i left this move on my ''to watch'' list for almost 2 years, i cant believe it. Its worth a watch, event hough i have known the real case for years, this movie makes you think twice about crime and young offenders in specific, a little sad too. 7.5/10

That would be because MegaUpload and its associated companies including MegaVideo, were seized by the FBI back in January. On that day all Mega anything links on the whole internet stopped working because the FBI took the servers. RIP MegaUpload / MegaVideo etc.

Very sad. The characters are well played, loved the accent, loved how eric (jack) is such a shy amazing person,but just caught up in the wrong moment with the wrong people. The ending was expected. enjoyed the movie. :)

I didn't really notice the slow beginning tbh-great film with great performances by all the characters. Very sad film from beginning to end, it's a pity he didn't get his happy ending. Worth a watch.

Start was a bit slow but it turned out to be quite exciting and tense. Someone said the lead play wasn't great, I honestly think it was really great. He was totally into the role. The end was the best though... 7/10.

I wanted this movie to be really good, unfortunately it wasn't...I thought that it dragged on a bit...I didn't think that this movie was anything special...It's good for a one time watch.

This is a great film. It tells the story without any Hollywood airs and graces and will touch even the most hardened critic. This film deserved all the awards it won 5/5

I think the events in this film are very loosely based on the Jamie Bulger incident, but I wouldnt go as fair as to saying they are inaccurate because I dont think you can compair them. They're two different story lines with really only one thing in common, two boys killed someone. However excellent film, slow but worth waiting for, its nice to portray the feelings of the offender sometimes.

very interesting movie, Andrew Garfield's performance is absolutely excellent with a big emotional impact.

I found this to be a great movie, Andrew Garfield, as always is amazing. I have watched so many of his movies, and prior to last month I didn't even know who he was. He is becoming one of my favorite actors, I don't believe there is any "type" of film, he couldn't do. Great movie.

this was a very sad movie but pretty realistic of human behaviour especially at the end

gripping movie...i only had one cigarette during this one and that is a far shot from my usual...someone said this was slow and i did not feel that way...it was sad but a great piece of a difficult life...it just shows me how much worse things could of been for me growing up...now i just have to face a lot as an adult...don't think i will take the plunge just yet like our lead but hey life can be overwhelming and for him it was difficult to see that light at the end of the tunnel...enjoy...definitely worth a watch

Its sad, if only those kids had parents that cared their life might have been different. I'm thankful for my parents now that i've seen this. I wish the main character had better luck but i think this movie is worth a watch.

Boohooee, I really nearly had to cry because of the ending. It's a great movie; the acting is very good, especially the acting of the main character(erik), love the story, it's realistic, dramatic, sometimes a little bid too sad (maybe they should have added some humor), i like that the movie wasn't fast, that makes the story much more realistic and i think it's pleasant to watch. Enjoyed every single minute.

Was it bad that i cried for him? Am i wrong for thinking everyone deserves a second chance regardless of their actions in the past?....Stunning performances all round but fairly disturbing subject. 10/10

I did enjoy the movie - but if it is based on john venables who was boy A in the james bulger murder, I feel it is all wrong, as it dose not accurately portray the events at the time, or after, it is set up to give sympathy to the offender, using completly distorted information. I think because of that the film is not publicized as being based on the Jamie Bulger case, and in that case I do not feel it was right to make, you cant half make a film on half a story of such magnitude. If I had not known it had anything todo with Jamie Bulger, I would have given it a 9/10 great british movie but I am torn due to the subject matter
