Brilliant supernatural flick.Very creepy 8/10

i hate this movie its not even scary at all

I liked this movie - it had a good story which keeps you interested from begining to end!! There was quite a few jumpy scenes and was certainly creepy but not scary enought to keep you awake at night. I also found some scenes quite sad - which almost had me in tears.

i don't know why anyone said this is boring because it's not in the least. Obviously it's not a gore fest slasher movie because it's explained in the title so people into that stupid shit should go watch saw. This movie actually requires some paying attention. I really enjoyed it.

very scary but a goood story

Sorry, but only a one time watch for me. Wasn't overly impressed with it at all.

I mainly watched it because it was based on a true story, and those movies are usually pretty good. This movie had some jumpy scenes here and there, dealt with ghosts which is what usually like in horror movies. Anyway, worth a watch so I'm gonna give it a 6/10

Good horror movie but the fact is the book which chronicles the actual story is much more scarier. In fact the true story behind this is rather disturbing. - Family moves into house which used to be a funeral home because they need to be closer to the hospital for cancer treatments for their son. The son and rest of the family start seeing things, the son becomes sick and possessed eventually trying to rape a family member. Paranormal investigators get involved and when digging up the history of the place they find the two guys that ran the funeral home were having sex with the dead bodies before the embalming process. Pretty sick and quite a page turner. Theres even a part in the book where the father in front of everyone gets raped by an unseen force. The movie has none of this and only the element of funeral home.

this is a good movie. I believe this is the second time I watched it because I hear there is a part 2 coming out and I wanted to make sure I knew what was coming. I enjoy supernatural movies more than zombie or werewolf type movies. I would reccomend this one and can't wait for pt.2.

This movie totally pissed me off. It didn't even contain not ONE bit of factual evidence from the true story at ALL! If you want to know about the TRUE story of the haunting then you have to watch the hour TV show about it. This is just another "hollywood" remake to make money.

this movie was in fact scary (if ure sensitive, like me, NEVER!! watch this movie). i swear i even dreamed about it and it wasnt nice...i've had nightmares every night since i watched this movie...my mom even banned me from watching horror movies again, but i just can't stay away from them...especially "Ghost Whisperer"

Pretty similar to most haunting movies, thought it had some few "hiding under-the-cover" moments too. Good atmosphere, storyline wasn't bad, actors were good, the young boy is a really good actor. I usually don't get more frightened when they say "based on true events", becuz they get it all wrong and exaggerate with new stuff, but it never surprises me that there are sick ppl out there, that's the real scary thing. If you like Amityville Horror you'll like this too 7/10

The real story is better. Don't get me wrong, this movie had its moments but there's still some things missing or changed!

this flick was just as bad as the "Sixth Sense" and a couple of other flicks that try to shake you up, you know the drill the usual ifs it real? ? this flick didn't move me like a couple of other scaring the hell out of you do, did'nt live up to the hype, just, popcorn and potato chips horror, racked up an: D- to me. {sleep well nothing to leave the lights on about, trust me}!

If you have witnessed paranormal events, this true story will chill you to the bone. 5/5
