The Crazies is one of those extremely rare remakes that surpass the original. In fact, The Crazies is a perfect example of what a remake should be. It takes a poorly executed movie with an interesting premise (George Romero’s 1973 film of the same name) and corrects the flaws. Obviously the effects work is better in this film, but the acting and writing are where this version made the most improvements. The Crazies is about a madness-inducing biological contagion that spreads through a small Iowa town. It’s also a subtle commentary on the military’s use of force, as the soldiers sent in to contain the outbreak are just as dangerous as the pitchfork-wielding infected townspeople. The Crazies also works very well as a horror movie. There are plenty of jump scares and gore, but it really excels in the suspense department. Suspense is something that’s been missing in Hollywood horror films lately, so it’s great to suffer through some very tense, fist biting moments. 4/5 Robo-Stars

The movie was actually pretty good. There's a lot of "crazy" moments...haha but i had some difficulties seeing somethings that were dark because of the quality. There's no real twists but there's oh my god moments as if u didn't expect something happening...its pretty much like other movies in the same genre..but those movies are pretty good...and so it this one =]

I was disappointed in this movie; from the commercials I thought it would be just amazing and scary! SIKE! I jumped a grand total of ONE time.. The storyline was just weird to me.. This is not the type of movie that I would volunteer to watch again anytime soon!

I had looked forward to watching this film for quite some time, And I am quite disappointed. It is slow and drawn out, Not scary. I got board really and was looking forward the end to come. I would rate it a 2 star movie out of a 5 star rating.
The best scene was when the dog dies in the end. You just have to see that part. hehehe

By now you must have seen one of the dead series or at the very least the resident evil series? Surely? 28 days/weeks? If not the plot can be described like this, normal people become killerz with remorse and thers a government stealthy shadow lot skulking around with masks on. Queue heroes and lots of walking shots and you have the plot to all of those films give or take a few words.

The orignal Dawn of the dead was incredible and a classic because it did that first, took the whole zombie idea and gave it a human interest and a healthy dose of public commentary. The remake to it although not bad at all didnt really add to the orignal aside from improving the budget and look of the film if anyones honest.

THIS remake does the normal budget and look improvement but adds to the idea of the orignal and really fleshes it out, its nice and tense throughout, brutal without treading into horror porn terriorty and has the excellent Olyphant in it as well as some secondary characters who you do grow to like. It also doesnt feel like its over an hour and a half so all in all its really quite good!

BUT! I tell you now you have seen this film before in various forms so its major let down is that it is another film about a paranoid government having its wicked way with small town folk, watch it but i guarntee you it will fade in the memory

well 71% Rotten Tomatoes rating, its pretty cool. still i thought it will be just another silly bad remake and a soulless dull and boring horror movie but, no, it turned out to be a very good movie. i am totally shocked about the fact that how good this movie is. i have not seen the original movie but this one was awsome. its one of the most entertaining movie of the year. right from the beginning it caught my attention and kept my interest till the end. very suspenseful and thrilling movie. it was scary too, not the psychopath people but the movie. i thought they will be zombies but no, the chemical stuff in water turns them to some psycho minded people that become very violent and start killing other people.

you can't really tell about the acting performances in this kind of movie but everyone did a fine job, decent one. Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell looked good in there characters along with the other cast. i was not sure i'll watch this movie when it was released, but here i am after like 7 or 8 months i thought i'll give it a try because of the reviews, i wanted to watch this movie along with the others towards the end of the year. it wasn't that important but i was wrong.

Direction was good, screenplay smartly written concerning this kind of movie, very interesting, entertaining, suspenseful and thrilling screenplay which will keep you going without getting bored even for a minute trust me on that. cinematography is good too, nice location. special effects are ok. decent looks and all. good styling. i enjoyed it and so will you.

Tipical cataclistic movie, where a group of people try to survive to a enormous problem.
I this movie the problem was that the people of a little town were turning crazy, and killing people... seems like a zombie movie, but it had a little diference.
It didnt have suspense, its more action than any other thing.
In general it was interesting and a recomend it for people with taste to movies of this kind.

Sometimes the fear-causing entities come at us one at a time. But in some of the movie's most effective set pieces, we get them in sequence. In the end, we're more scared for these people because they're fleshed-out characters, not the anonymous and interchangeable targets that populate most horror schlock.

I didn't get how terrified I had to be... I don't know of I've seen too many horror movies, but this one made me laugh sometimes. The beginning was very slow and sometimes the story didn't have a true meaning. I believe I would give it a 4/10.
