Great depiction,still...makes me angry.

This movie depicted precisely what my mom who is Polish has been telling me over the years which is the brutal treatment Polish women had endured at the hands of the Russian army in Poland after it was liberated from the Nazi's. Great move, superb acting, movies as such serve as great reminders evil can never be forgotten, it comes in all forms but as the great Jan Karski once said: "a human being is capable of infinite good as well as infinite evil, regardless of who they are."

brutal war flick,a must see for the portrayal of survival of the human spirit........

5/5 for all who thinks communism was only an ideological system admired by french intelectualists in 70's.

Painfully poignant movie with perfect acting from Agata Kulesza and Marcin Dorocinski. 10/10

Another masterful Polish movie, this film was bleak but very powerful. However, it's grimness is redeemed by the indomitable will of the human spirit. The lead actor was simply magnificent playing a soldier of conscience. 8.5/10

Erm ok, dont really know wtf this film was about really...Dont know what film everyone else was watching, rape and torture scenes??!!! Were were they? Brutal and dark and hard to watch??!! That film they were watching sounds alright though...And to think I could have been watching Eastenders instead of waiting till 10 for the repeat now..

this movie [at times] is so dark and violent it will be etched in my brain for years to come. The performance by the 2 lead actors is so strong I forgot I was watching a movie and felt as if I were there, seeing this all happen real time. Gripping portrayal of human survival at its hardest and most disturbing times; I could not stop watching it, altho I did turn away a couple of times because it was too violent. The crimes against humanity committed during that time period should never be forgotten so as it never be repeated and this movie will accomplish that if you give it time and watch it. 10/10

Great movie with great actors. 8/10 First time I remember seeing Marcin Dorocinski was in Pitbull and he was awesome in that one. Also Agata Kulesza is playing in a fantastic tv series called Krew z Krwi, not sure how to translate that. If you can find it you wont be disappointed.

The dark ages couldn't be better represented than in this remarkable movie....truly outstanding in depicting the brutality of a world gone mad...a must watch,10/10.
