I like the show. Ilike the way actors get into their roles. However, the Mckenzie - she yells - like she has no voice. No valid argument to yell for. I agree with those commenting on opening - I just think its a bit too long.

I love The Newsroom. I wish it was real and I was working with Mac and Jimmy. This series isn't just a good story, it's our mirror. Will expressed my sentiments exactly when describing how America is drugged on sensationalism. It's like it's on "tabloid heroin". I felt relieved during Will's "mission of civility" that I have never watched any of those housewives shows, do not watch the new age reality television (considering the news is reality television), have never purchased a trash magazine and I am not a fan of put down sitcoms where the one with the best put down gets the best laugh.

I wonder if true journalists out there watch this and cry. Where is our Will and Mac? Of course there can only be a Will and Mac if there is Charlie. Where's our Charlie???? Don't think for a minute it's better up here in Canada. We have a Prime Minister (Conservative) who is ruling our CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) with an iron fist and handling journalists like a master walking a dog on a short leash. It is known that our PM has hand picked a few journalists who have permission to interview him and he approves of the questions being asked beforehand. If our governments and corporations weren't so corrupt and if they didn't have the media in their control like a puppet master, there would never have been wi ki le aks.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I am surprised that the corporate "real" powers that be are not meeting with Aaron Sorkin and telling him to "tone it down". Sorkin has some mighty big boys.

Speaking of Law & Order...After growing up watching Sam Waterston do his thing on network TV, I always do a double take when I hear him curse on this show! I love it!

Aaron Sorkin has done it again. I am a big fan of his past shows, namely Sports Night and The West Wing. He is amazing and I love this show!!!

First off, Aaron Sorkin does it again creating another show (especially this episode) that almost entirely one sided preaching hiding behind nothing more than one republican character who gets a 10 second ramble about conservative values being the only other side that ever seems to get a mention. Second, I still love the show, I can stand to watch it because my principles are pretty well decided and a tv show isn't going to change my mind. The characters were great, the premise was much needed in America, and it's the next best thing after The West Wing.

i am not sure how to explain this but every story has 2 sides, and in united states two major parties are usually on the opposite sides of the story, we have been represented with 1 case so far (I haven't seen the latest episode yet) and in the case we seen they lean ONE way (it would be impossible to lean both way lol ... anyways the way i see it its waaaay to early to talk about the sides show is taking .. i mean come on we are only 4-5 episodes in, give it some time

My favorite show. Love the cast. I think Olivia Munn who plays Sloan sabbeth has a real talent for news casting, she seems to have a certain kind of voice and flare you see with some of real Anchor women. She also was the reporter on Iron man 2. she had a very small role. You see her in the first 5 minutes into the movie for about a half minute. She recently came out she suffers from OCD = Obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Just what I needed... a show that puts the goods right where I need'em = in my mind, heart, & soooouuullll! HBO has raised their game to another seemingly impossible level above ALL other networks.
