Definitely not your average movie fan's cup of tea. Not so much horror in the strictest sense, but rather deeply horror themed. While I appreciate that many people could not get into it, I found TWIXT to be an absolutely mesmerizing and breathtaking bit of filmmaking. Visually stunning, quirky and most definitely out there, I was hooked from the start. Certainly more on the arty side, I envision David Lynch, Frank Miller and David Fincher downing absinthe, talking Hammer Films and splashing their thoughts onto the screen with cohesiveness dangling by a thread. Val Kilmer was great in my eyes; sort of a gumshoe bit of quirkiness played perfectly, Bruce Dern was typical fab Bruce Dern (a bit over the top) and Elle Fanning was nothing short of haunting...After watching YOUTH WITHOUT YOUTH' and now this, it's clear Coppola does indeed direct for himself; and I find it refreshing to savor his vision. Cool stuff indeed for the more adventurous film buff; TWIXT is a one of a kind experience in mind-bending cinema. Loved it. Just know what you are getting into... 8/10.

A very quirky kind of movie. I liked it because of the neat lighting effects and the plot. It does get strange at times and I can't say I understood it all but it is worth a watch.

I agree with irish69 was different than what I was expecting and awesome... so much more than any other B film. I try not to read who writes, produces, directs or stars in films I've not heard of before and I was pleasantly surprised with all aspects. Definitely worth the watch!

Some of these low-budget, straight to dvd horror movies that pop up on this site are better shot and directed than this movie. Was this one even at theaters either? Can't believe the director of the Godfather made this movie. That may be the only scary part about this.

5/10 Okay for a one time watch. It just tries too hard. I really like Val Kilmer, but he has really lowered his standards (so has Coppola if this is any indication). What is fun is the woman who plays Kilmer's wife in this pic...

FFC wrote, produced and directed this film and I couldn't possibly understand why. The back story was shallow and overall, the film felt disjointed; maybe that's what FFC wanted, but there was no cause to enjoy the film, just to suffer all the way to the end. I couldn't say I sympathised with any of the characters, because I didn't get to know them. I think FFC left too much on the cutting room floor. 3/5

Nice to see Val working with his ex wife J.W. and co-star from Willow too. She is a decent actress, and seeing Bruce (Laura Derns father "her show Enlightened", also a good watch. Fanning's littlest sister too? Wow a lot of people trying to keep this story alive, not bad so far.The movie does at times have an oddness to the editing. Still not a bad watch, slow but not bad. To interpret is to impoverish. Look at Siskel and Ebert, Sickle's dead and Ebert wishes he was. Bad Karma. So happy for those who can posts these free links!! TY community and 1Channel.ch

After seeing this movie, I feel the only adequate response is, what the f--k?? It was so confusing. I had no idea what was going on the entire time. Total disappointment. The preview made it look interesting

You wouldn't expect a B movie from Francis Ford Coppola,not with his history of blockbusters...this is the last movie he directed,but what baffles me he also wrote it...I am still under shock how silly this film is,with the most horrendous acting and the only redeeming factor is some original cinematography...nothing to brag about though and certainly not enough to help his reputation,2/10.

Ooh, BOMB... I thought I would give it a shot and see if Val Kilmer had gotten a decent role and turned in a good performance: no. He hasn't had anything positive since THE DOORS. As for Coppola, what a shame. And Elle Fanning is a fine young actor, but she isn't served well in this movie. this little nugget of movie is all gassed up and ready to take you on a trip, but its bad wiring prevents it from really going anywhere. val kilmers voice for this character was bad. the cg was poor. i liked the premise of it but i think it tried to make itself more high brow and postmodern artsy. 3/5

If u compare tis 2 FFC's previous efforts,tis is really bad. BT compared 2 Val Kilmer's effort 4 the past few years,tis is pretty good. At least here he shows sm good acting. The movie wasn't very impressive bt it was good 2 watch once.

it's funny it made wanting 2 keep watching even though it was really boring.

val kilmer must have really needed the money to have made this one
