The movie was so beautiful. Hats off to Michelle Williams. She was remarkable as Marilyn Monroe. Not only were the actors and actresses brilliant, but so was the music. A very beautiful film indeed.

very enjoyable, especially the first half. I'm not a huge romance guy, so I guess the second half is automatically not my cup of tea (no pun intended) but Michelle Williams is incredible. In many ways. . .

Not as good as I hoped, due to the lack of resemblance between Marilyn and Michelle Williams. Also because Marilyn was extremely annoying and never stopped moaning! lol 5/10

amazing film really interesting and they got someone that actually looked like her the only problem was it really presented her as someone drugged up to the eyeballs

This movie provided a glimpse of what Marilyn was all about and why she was so famous in her time period. Never knew her, never looked into and didnt care too much about her. But, the portrayal of this movie conveyed perfect simple joyous naivety, that made her so attractive, she lived by the moments. This attracted many who were charmed by her and wanted to protect this portrayal of a voluptuous joyous naivety. Which in turn built the cage in which she lived in. Started to empathize with her predicament, but learnt to see how a life of constant joy and naivety can make someone so simple. That she became trapped, by her own image. The ability to convey these character flaws so well across film to people who didnt know her and didnt care to know her before. To the point of becoming enamored into trying understand such a flawed character, is the brilliance in the direction and acting, which made this so convincing. The choice of scenery of working in a foreign land with foreign people whom have foreign mannerisms. Creates the perfect effect of stripping Marilyns character to its key character flaws. Well made film that showed the intriguing life and times of Marilyn Monroe. From all the comments before we get it theres only one Marilyn, but this displayed effectively her mass of insecurities vs her massive ego.

Well done for Michelle Williams and all the players. I really enjoyed the film's creative execution.

She did okay, i guess, but i am not feeling her at all as Marilyn. Very disappointing, i couldn't even watch it:-( There are so many other actresses that ooze beauty and sex appeal with slimmer & prettier faces that they could have put a blonde wig/lace front on to do Marylin justice. She had so much swag, everything she did was effortlessly sexy, imo. They could have put a blonde lace front on Halle Berry, or something............side note: I think Halle Berry studied Marilyn's walk, btw; she has that same kind of swagerish walk as Marilyn. I'm just not feeling this chic as Marilyn, at all! OMG, what were they thinking? Guess they were trying to show what Marilyn thought of herself as far as looks by having this chic play her? Truth be told, most really pretty girls dont really think they're as pretty as they actually are. Idk what the reasoning was behind this choice for her character. I never knew much about Marilyn, and I'am not at all interested in learning more about her from this. I really think they did her a huge injustice, so to speak, with this. Just my opinion, but what do I know.

this was just wonderful. brilliant! ive seen comments and reviews bashing this and people talking about Ms. Michelle Williams, saying that she looks nothing like Marilyn and that she didnt gave it justice. well, i have to disagree, she was magnificent. i havent heard of her before but now, i think i just had a new girl crush though i have to agree that Scarlett Johanssen would also look good in the role. Eddie Redmayne was maginificent as well, theres just something about him that just enchants me, ive never fallen hard for someone who has freckles before but i dont know, is it the eyesm the lips.. or the accent? xD the other actors were amazing as well and Emma Watson, lovely as always. the whole plot just made me cry. i feel sorry for Marilyn, nobody can be perfect. maybe the broken doll effect made her much more beautiful anyways overall 10/10 :)

Wow, absolutely splendid. Michelle Williams did do a great performance here. However I love Marilyn Monroe and it was quite upsetting to see this. She was so unhappy. Amazing still.

This movie wasn't boring but it also wasn't very entertaining. It made no type of sense to me and the only parts that I liked were the ones where she had trouble "finding" her character. They portrayed Marilyn as a ditsy-promiscuous blonde (typical) but if you read about her through biographies done by people who have studied her whole life-well she's the complete opposite. Oh well, everyone's entitle to their opinion and this is mine. 4/10 Great actors though!

I gave this film five out of five cuz Im a fan of both Marilyn and Michelle. Hate to even say this but I didnt think Michelle could pull this off but she did fairly good. Also hate the fact that it was just a chapter of Marilyns life, wish it could have been her whole life story.. If you're a fan, worth the watch.

I quite enjoyed this film. It was quite odd but I like it.

Michelle Williams did a better job than i expected aside from the fact she didnt have Marilyn's figure. I enjoyed the movie for its intended purpose; a glimpse inside what she did to people.. but other than that i'd give it a 8/10 for the good acting.

Very good watch. Michelle Williams did an excellent job of capturing the fragile translucent beauty that was the external shell regarded as Marilyn Monroe after the terminal insecurity and tragedy of her life had eroded the substance of Norma Jean Baker. With an enormously talented cast supporting her (in reality and in story line),a subtle but attuned score, and solid photography, this was an original enough take on a bit of Monroe's life. It came together and was smoothly blended by the smitten point of view of the storyteller, as portrayed by Eddie Redmayne. Definitely worth a watch. A must see for fans of Miss Monroe.

I could not get past the first half or so of the film. It just seemed to go nowhere and I watched Michelle Williams go in and out of character. Sometimes I saw a gesture or a facial expression that was Marilyn-esque but other than that, I certainly did not see Marilyn. I don't know why Michelle Williams got the part. All I kept thinking about was her bloated face and droopy eyes and how much she reminds me of a little pug. I don't really understand what the point of making the film was, other than to throw a British acting royalty ensemble cast at us with a sprinkle of the American Indie it-girl thrown in for added hype. Also, I think casting Emma Watson was a bad choice. I'm not into Harry Potter so I haven't watched her in the films, but I think she was too young for the role, and not in any way charming. OK, I think that's enough outa me. THUMBS DOWN!
