National Geographic Red Sea Jaws: In just one week, an unprecedented number of shark attacks left one tourist dead and four others horribly mutilated in December 2010. The vicious feeding frenzy, in the waters off the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, shocked even the most seasoned shark scientists. Nat Geo WILD investigates what may have caused the attacks.

Its shocking that none of the victims were warned about these attacks despite people being attacked before them. The beaches should have been shut or at least signs posted! The sharks clearly saw that area as a source of food and kept coming back.

Been waiting to hear more on this. I was there around the time this was happening and never even knew about it until we got back home and it was all over the news.

I never saw a shark... come out of the water ... and bother us... Why do we humans go into the water and... disturb its environment... why cant we let it live ? We get our ass handed to us... and we cry... oh why did the shark bit me ? Look at its teeth... what else is it supposed to do ? Be civilized ?

Good Doc. Some people seem to forget that sharks were swimming in the ocean WAY BEFORE we decided to come along and claim the world as our own. As far as more sharks today. Ridiculous.

Certainly somewhere to stay away from,,,,, far to many Eastern Europeans!! As for the sharks? Karma, how many million do we de-fin and throw back still alive each year in the name of crazy Chinese medicine and cuisine, we get away quite lightly only having a few people each year killed internationally. Good on em I say, but might be nice if they kept the attacks to the chinese who create this negative Karma!

Nat Geo is the best for this kind of stuff. @street below me, more sharks today than say 100-200 years ago? Not even close to being true, not even a little bit.

Although the explanation given is a good one I am curious why no one bothered to ask why the sharks chose 4 Russians to attack. The British guy was bumped but not bitten - that, to me, should have caught someones attention.
