The choices of characters to represent the anime characters are chosen well. It's a good romance movie and it's entertaining. For those avid anime/manga fans, I do recommend that you watch the episodes first. You will give you the essence of what "Paradise Kiss" is all about (there are 12 episodes in total). But, if you're curious about the movie and have no time to watch the anime/manga episodes you will still enjoy the movie, especially if you like romance :P. I wish they stayed true to the anime story though;). I give it 3.5/5

It was a good movie. I enjoyed it.

I'm surprised by how much I liked this. I wouldn't have guessed this was based on an anime until I read the comments. Unlike most anime-to-reality transitions (I detest watching these), this kept the "anime elements" out of it and "the real life" in it, because the former never works without looking goofy. I prefer the characterization of the two leads in here than that of the original characters in the manga...to some extent. Their personalities felt more solid and unswerving. It was also very different from the manga/television series; the general storyline and silver-lining was way more solid here. I'm not telling anyone to have high expectations of this, because it's more of those "better than what I expected it to be" movies and that's it. It's very easy to relate to the main character's problem while wishing you had your very own Mukai to help push you towards your goals. The movie/story was made to teach the audience a lesson about life. If you're artist, then you can really take his quotes to heart. I really liked how things ended up. The music absolutely killed the ending scene for me, but other than that, I'll be watching this a second time.

What a sweet movie! I'm glad I watched it. I just wish I still remembered a bit of Japanese.... The subtitles were great though! :-) 5/5

i used to watch the anime of this so when i aw the film i was hesitant but Omg this is a beautiful creative romance and is well worth a watch. It did the anime and everything else proud i,ve watched this 5 times so far and even my daughter likes it . a huge 10/10
