This movie kept me interested, it kept me guessing. It wasnt your typical monster killing up a bunch a kids movie. It had more of a storyline and plot weird at times yes, cheesy costume yes, slightly confusing at parts yes, absolutely disturbing YES!! but i still thought it was an entertaining movie and I'm glad i watched it.

At first glance Creature seems like any other R-rated monster flick. The difference comes about 40 minutes in when the film begins to twist and change into a strange kick-butt take names later, extremely messed up sexual interplay and monster movie. Creature might be the year’s smartest horror film. Unfortunately there’s nothing scary about it, and the R-rating is more for sexuality than gore. With that in mind the movie strives for something different than your average horror film, a story. It’s easy to see why The Bubble Factory thought it had something here.

Not to be taken too seriously , I knew from the first scene, with the naked waif , wading thru swampy waters that this creature feature was going to be very annoying. I was so right, although the formula is fun, it moves rather slow in spots. The cast, script and direction is extremely annoying, and none of the characters are likable.(Except the Creature). They did have sense enough however to hire Mechad Brooks, who lights up the screen every time he is shown and he is so charismatic that he doesn't even have to do much, just exist. And Sid Haig adds his B movie magic to try to bring this wanna be horror to another level. This film basks in the fact that it shows boobies for absolutely no reason what so ever and the cast drinks, smokes weed and have really retarded sexcapades out of the clear blue sky. But as we watch this sad attempt at horror , we do feel that all involved was trying to crank out a pretty decent fright fest. Although it sort of fell flat it was indeed a valiant effort. Maybe if there is a Creature 2, it would bring a brighter light to this dark and dreary swamp flix.
