Being from South Korea, its shocking how different the North is in terms of society and culture. Its incredibly communist, I mean to the extreme and whilst the South is Capitalist. The North is its own little universe with little care or connection to the outside world. The ideals and tyranny of the dictator are being force fed to the people and they're suffering for it. Lets hope change will come soon.

N.Korean leader sees himself as more than GOD, he forgets all these earthly things shall come to pass, ask Hitler, Gadaffi, Hussein. They will have a national holiday to celebrate his downfall. I know how it feels to live in fear, although I was not directly threatened I knew people who disappeared without a trace. Fear can make people helpless and outwardly seem to support an oppressor, its a survival tactic, thats all it is.

A very powerful documentary about a country that is caught in a time vaccuum. History has always proven that when the people get tired, change will come. Kim Jong Il is a tyrant of the worse sort but one day his number will be called and the PEOPLE will make the change! Anytime the world interferes with the inner workings of another country you will have an Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel and any of the other countries around the world embroiled in internal strife and conflict! 5/5, excellent documentary!

The power is in the army. If they turned against Kim Jong Il the country will fall, but I don't think this will happen anytime soon. The majority of North Koreans worship their leader and have extreme faith in him in whatever he dose. How else would they view him if they have been brainwashed into thinking that this's the only way of life and he's the only leader ? I just hope that the North Koreans will be able to see the reality soon and fight for their rights and for a better country and when that happens, I wish the other countries will participate in freeing them. I don't know how the man in the documentary who fled from the north and now lives in Seoul can live with himself ! How selfish of him, he ruined everything for the people around him just to have a better life. He knew that his family will go to jail if he tried to leave, but that didn't stop him. I would never do such a thing, either I leave with my family or stay with them and have the same life, not leave and live freely in Seoul while they root in jail and have mice for lunch, if they were lucky to even catch them.

Watch "Seoul Train" much better documentary if you're interested in the refugee situation. This doc covers the lives of the privileged in Pyongyang and more of what the North Korean government wants us to see, "Seoul Train" looks at those who have made the leap to escape the country and risking life or imprisonment. I hope people become more aware of the unique situation over there and the issues with reunification.

With all my knowledge of South Korea I never had even a basic inclining of what North Korea was like or even what the country looked like. This is what a dictatorship in a country looks like in a nutshell. I remember a little while back Lisa Ling's sister was imprisoned in North Korea for being a spy(which wasn't true) and she had to endure hard labor. With all the hate instilled in the hearts of their countrymen it does seem like they can be saved because all that anger they feel towards America is because of fear of their own country and leader. And given the chance to escape they would do it in a heartbeat. Very good Documentary 4/5

There's a good doc about North Korea called "Welcome to North Korea" i seen once on cine-max years ago. I haven't been able to find it online but if you ever come across it definitely give it a watch.
