This was a very shocking & depressing documentary! I live in Canada & although there are occasional hate crimes against homosexuals & other minorities at least there are laws to punish those convicted. I didn't really believe that such rabid homophobia would be the norm for 95% of a country. As usual religion coupled with ignorance & lack of education seems to be the culprit here. Throw in a corrupt political system that stirs up hatred for homosexuals so that the people won't start thinking too much about the people who are actually hurting them and keeping them down. I thought the interviewer wasn't as professional as he might have been & he really wasn't much of a debater (his strategy seemed to be lose the debate, lose the debate, lose the debate, tell everyone I'm gay... there take that!). On the other hand he had the balls to go in there as a gay man so you have to respect the guy! Well done!

Dear BBC why would you send a nobody to africa? i mean really he didnt know how to conduct an interview, or even know what questions to ask. But as for the whole gay thing, they should use 1960's guidelines and just shame them publicly, fire them from their jobs, and arrest them. i wish we still lived in the 1906's where a man was a man, and a woman was a womam; no gay peopel were allowed
