One of the best period dramas I have EVER watched. Sophisticated plot and really, really complex character development. If they ever write a book based on this, I would definitely buy it. Now I feel like reading all those Jane Austen books again. All I can say is...I can't wait for Season 2!!

Such a wonderful TV show ! It is lush and rich, yet not as dark & caustic as "GOSFORD PARK", and certainly not as naive & mawkish as Jane Austen's novels. The script is so carefully done that you actually care about a dozen of characters. Besides, the scenery and the costumes are amazing.

How much do I love this show! OMG I'm obsessed!! I just love everything about it! I'm so drawn in it's unreal!! Extremely well written by Julian Fellows!! A true masterpiece in every episode!! Watch it, I don't see how you can't like it :) Enjoy

I LOOOOOOVE THIS SHOW! I love period films and Downton Abbey is one of the best television shows I've seen. The acting is great, as someone said before, you actually care about the characters who are so unique. Maggie Smith as Cousin/Grandmother Violet has some of the best lines in the show! The drama is intriguing but subtle, doesn't seem melodramatic or overdone like the plots of alot of modern shows. It's funny too, probably not for the average mainstream audience but the characters have little quips that you have to catch. And the costumes/set are gorgeous! I can't wait to watch Season 2!
