I'm not going to get into the quality of the cam work. It was good enough to watch and see what happens for a FREE movie site. Now having that been said, I'd like to say that a lot of people got hyped up for this movie. The first 20 minutes of it were compelling and draws you in. But after that, the introduction of so many different characters, really just leaves you kind of numb. The lack of score really bogged this one down as well. I'm not saying this should have been just a super suspenseful action thriller. But everything seemed to just sludge on. None of the mini plots really get fleshed out well and some hardly at all, leaving you wondering what the purpose of having these kind of extra story line points where. I mean i get what the points are trying to make, but they just needed a little more development. And while you're trying to figure out what the point of one subplot is, a new one starts. I found myself just really wanting to get through it. It's probably one of the worst movies I have seen in a while. On the other side of the coin, it was interesting to see how the contagion began from the start of one person shaking hands etc etc. If you're like me, and have to watch practically every movie that comes out, be warned. This one may put you to sleep. It will certainly make you think about where you sneeze and who's hand you shake. 4/10

Movie Review for Contagion

Storyline:
A Viral infection is speading and killing the host within 3 days of contamination, a world wide epidemic breaks out with time against them to try find a vaccine a world breaking out into panic and contained by the millitary and farmasutical companies racing to be the first to generate the multimillion dollar vaccine that the world will depend on

Sounds good right?
Thats because in theory the storyline is a brilliant one, however its more of a bed time story rather than a cutting edge action packed sci-fi movie.

What would I change if I could?
The break out of the virus seems well told, would of been better if the virus was first poassed on by a dying mans letter to a loved on.

with a virus known to kill within 3-4 days from contact with surfaces, airbourne or tactile spreading.
There should of been a media breakout, showing the fast rate of spreading, luting, roberies and the armies coming into force far sooner, curfews and ghost towns.

People breaking out into rage with desperacy to survive obtain food supplies from the shortages.

The vacine trucks ram raded to obtain doses
Daughter on the verge of death but gets a vaccine just before the end of the movie in which she survives

Conspiracy nut on trial for manslaughter rather than let off due to supporters

with aspect to what I would keep the same
Researcher that dies
Drs wife leaking inside news
The source being from a pig farm

Worth watch just to say you have watched it and the movie is watchable but i wouldnt cancel a night out for it or even arrange a movie night based on this movie
I would say this is more for the one who wants something to watch when he or she has nothing else to do or about to go to bed.

Quality:
Quality wasnt the best but it was watchable, again some what blury in some stages were it was difficult to make out the face with clarify, almost like a focus issue. Something I dont think was part of the movie but more of the person recording the movie and equipment used.

No, you can enjoy it but will be better in HD quality
Sound quality was good the only downside to this movie is as mentioned already the lack of action.

i wanted to see this movie like it wasn't one my most awaited movies of the year but still i wanted to see it. i kind of know the film making style of Soderbergh. while people in general weren't quite satisfied with this movie which makes me wonder is getting entertained the only reason to watch movies? aren't there other options for that? do people wanna see fun, explosions, entertainment in serious movies, movies about diseases where people die? that is pretty weird because people were complaining about how slow, boring and dull movie it was they waited for some big moment which didn't come. wow.

anyways this is not your usual epidemic-disaster movie. it is not cheesy in any way and it starts off the moment it begins. the very first shot suggests that Beth played by Gwyneth is now a infected person. this movie follows the progress of a deadly Virus, nothing like what people have seen and it is a Fomite transmission meaning indirect contact and it kills within days. As the fast-moving pandemic grows, the worldwide medical community tries hard to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. and shows how ordinary people try to survive in those conditions. now this is a perfectly paced thriller i don't know why people think it was slow. i thought the pace was perfect.

it has very ultra realistic approach to it making it more scarier than usual. i was literally scared of whatever was going on in this movie. i will call this the Scariest Movies of the year. it is very tensed movie and smartly made. Directed in a very good way by Soderbergh who once again proves he brings his own uniqueness in every type of movie he makes. Screenplay and plot were perfect. they were thrilling and tensed and tightly written. Cinematography was perfect with many good locations. the camera technique and shooting style was really nice. Editing once again was really good. i hardly found much flaws or plot holes. it may not be a perfect classic movie but according to me, it is the best movies of this topic. also it has a pretty weird score too, though i liked it with this movie but it somehow ruins the scenes.

Matt Damon as a father was really good, i liked his performance. Gwyneth Paltrow did a really nice job as a woman who actually acts as the first person to stimulate the outbreak, she isn't much tere but she lightens up the screen with her smile. Kate Winslet gave another good performance. and so did the lovely Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Jennifer Ehle, Bryan Cranston, Sanaa Lathan and John Hawkes. you can't really point out a one good performance since it is a ensemble cast but everyone did a good job. however to me the surprise was Jennifer Ehle, she was almost terrific. Kate, Marion and Jude stands out.

the movie shows several linked plot lines from the initial outbreak to the point where they finds the cure. in between you will see how the organisations work. the involvements of Governments and most of all the common man. there is a time when streets gives an idea of a Post Apocalyptic town. panic is somethings that really causes many more further problems. it has a realistic approach and i really liked how they showed everything in the right perspective.

a pretty tensed and scar movie that really stays with you while giving you chills, creeps and thrills the right amount and the right kind. and i will call it one of Soderbergh's best. Recommended to people who really appreciate each and every genre and watches movies on the bases of that while not expecting something else out of what they already know about the movie. it is slow but it is tensed at the same time. it has nothing big but it has many small things going on i mean this is a very good and gripping movie. Loved it so much and scared me too.

the story line its self was good and the acting was okay. but with that being said, the movie in its entirety was awful. the movie is very slow paced with no excitement what so ever. it didn't give enough back story in regards to the characters and the virus. i felt like i had began watching the story in the middle rather than from the start.

Just watch it if you are really interested on subject of epidemia... or don't lose your time... just my opinion, obviously ;-)

I had high hopes for this movie but it didn't quite meet them. The storyline is very engaging, the soundtracks are more than great but the whole idea of following many characters made the movie loses its charm. Also, introducing the idea of a human being immune to this deadly virus should've been a turning point in the movie, I mean it's a HUGE deal finding a human immune to a new strange strain of a deadly virus but somehow that didn't serve the story in anyway, it's like it wasn't even important if he's immune or not coz that didn't change a thing. I think that's the thing that irritated me the most. However, the directing was very good & the acting as well, it's just something didn't add up with the sequence of events or the way things turned out in the end. All in all, it was an interesting movie but it's wasn't that great a movie.

This is not a bad film.It deals with the theme in a more realistic fashion Than some of the recent plague films.It gives you a good insight into the logistical issues both medical and social.It also helps the viewer to get their head around the possibilities of such an outbreak on a large scale.Strangely,this picture has no real star.Its the story that is the focus and it moves along quite even paced,maybe slow for some ,but quick enough to keep one interested.Its well written,well acted and the whole film works well.I would say that it is worth a watch.I enjoyed it,though it is not the type of film you would archive to watch again.Its a one off watch.Not bad at all.
